then climbed into the main pond to clean out the pump…
after lunch my son-in-law and middle grandson came by… one levelled the waterfall stone so that water doesn’t leak out and need to be replaced as much… he also spread soil in the front, filled containers and tidied up the dirt pile…
the other mowed and whipper snipped the front and garden, including along the lane (sometimes we forget about that area)… he also helped with the soil cleanup…
they left, and the oldest grandson arrived to take me downtown where I got vaccinated for the second time;-)… as a treat we got ice cream cones on the way home;-)…
once home he changed a leaky hose and carried many boxes of books to the front step for pickup… we put them in plastic bags because they weren’t being picked up until Friday, but were too heavy for me to move, lol…
we’ve had a turntable on the table on the deck for at least twenty years…
the rolling piece finally disintegrated over the winter… my grandson found a different replacement part for it and it looks and works perfectly…
I also had him pick up an old Bundt pan… with help from the neighbour we cut out a slightly bigger hole in the centre and a young friend painted it for me…
while Hilda the Gardener was here the other day, she planted it and then I put it on the table…
it looks great and I can’t wait to see it filled out…
on Sunday, I spent the majority of the day working on the bathtub pond…
started out emptying it with the watering jug… realized that was going to take too long and would be difficult to get as the water went down, so I used the shop vac instead…
as it filled with water I scooped it out and used it to water the grass seedlings around the garden…
then the shop vac sucked up a million sunflower seeds along with Virginia creeper remnants…
eventually I got in and removed the rocks and plant and also trimmed back some of the Virginia creeper… nice to have it cleaned up;-)…
ordered a new pump for this pond and waited a few days for it to arrive…
this morning I filled up the tub with water and got the new pump working… it is going to be excellent and shouldn’t get plugged up…
I was thinking of my beloved on this Father’s Day as I wandered around the deck pulling weeds… currently ninety-nine percent are elm seedlings…
I always gave him action for not carrying around a pail to put the debris into and there I was today, pulling weeds and putting them on the ground or deck to be picked up later…
