don’t see people for days…

but today it felt like the doorbell kept ringing…

there were two deliveries from the drugstore… they forgot something when they delivered last night and I called this morning to add something else and they sent it separately as the courier was already on the way…

a visit from a sweet friend… we stood outside and chatted for ages;-)…

boys playing hockey on the street… they broke a car window and were looking for the owner… I was very impressed with the fact they didn’t just run, lol…

and finally, my grandson dropping off groceries… he had dinner while we visited…

I knew he was coming, so yesterday I made his favourite red curry lentils… got 6 containers out of the recipe… I had one last night, he had one while he was here, and took home the remaining four…

a friend picked up a few items for me at Costco this morning and brought me some tulips…

they are beautiful and I divided them into four containers…

one is on the stairs ready to go to my bedroom… another is in the bathroom… a third in the den…

the final one is in the living room… they brighten up the whole space…

I am blessed;-)…

one of my go to foods is chicken leg with back on, or leg and thigh as I call it…

last night I baked the chicken and warmed up some frozen mashed potatoes…

the treat was gravy with mushrooms and garlic…

I was pleased with both the gravy and the potatoes… it was the first time I had frozen and then thawed them…

this is going to be a game changer as I can now make a good size batch of mashed potatoes and freeze them in single meal sizes…

I am getting more comfortable with the cleaners coming into the house…

my technique is to decide where I will hide while they are cleaning… I don’t emerge until they have left the house, lol…

today, I spent the time in the computer room and shredded a ton of documents… had to empty the shredder at least three times…

felt quite productive…

my grandson came over to shovel today… and pick up a few woodworking tools for his online woods class…

just before he arrived I watched a couple of bunnies eating on the deck…

it was much easier to clean up the snow as it was fairly fresh… the last time it was a few weeks before he was able to get here, mainly due to the crazy cold we went through…

today, he was dropped off and wasn’t picked up for a few hours, so after he finished shovelling, he came inside and we had a visit… we sat as far as possible from one another in the living room and both wore masks…

I learned about his classes and what he has been up to, as well as how he is planning to make money in the future…

we talked about how he will go about taking drivers Ed in these strange times, and it is hard to believe that he will be driving this summer;-)…

it was lovely to spend time with him, even just sitting playing on our phones, lol…

he was picked up, the tools were gathered into the vehicle, and off they went…

looking forward to seeing what he makes…

busy day yesterday…

in the morning I attached the Philip’s lightstrip that I got for Christmas from my grandsons… I had played with it a bit the day before…

I am pleased with how it turned out…

moved around more plants and made a meal that needs to sit for a day…

after that I finished with making a dozen cards from the watercolour painting I’ve been doing…

felt very accomplished, lol…

I seem to be in the midst of Spring fever…

spent time rearranging plants around the main floor trying to change it up a bit…

moved one of the orchids from the dining room garden to the living room window and placed it into a vase I received when I retired… I think I like it…

I clustered the African violets together and moved a fern from one spot to another…

it will be interesting to see if they all like their new locations…

I am also watching the mandevilla, which I think, has a bud starting… very exciting…

on Sunday I took out a couple of little bacon wrapped steaks to barbecue, being as it was so warm out…

earlier in the day I baked a potato and then cooled it in the fridge so the sugars would be better…

moved Barbie into the middle of the garage and got her going…

the steaks cooked nicely and the potato warmed up just right…

I had a few Brussels sprouts which I cooked with garlic…

it turned out delicious… the steak was exactly the way I like it…

getting more used to using the barbecue…

spent time today putting away all the hearts and refreshing the living room table…

often at this time of year I would be filling it with rocks and shells, but that seems a little early…

I gathered up all the silver and purple ornaments and took them downstairs…

then I put some Chihuly calendar pictures in the four squares and added a few other items… one square has my gardening books as I’ve been looking through them to work on the garden design for the summer…

another has a few of my favourite children’s books in it, and some cards with fun pictures of time on Maui…

the third one holds my new pouch and postcards…

the last one has items to read… magazines, my tablet and kobo… and some butterfly things…

looks good and makes me happy…
