had a delightful morning yesterday…
spent time talking with the plants as they were watered and turned… a few are struggling with the move indoors but most are happy…
then I spent a glorious hour on the deck, in the sunshine, reading my current novel…

another lovely walk along the Harte Trail on Remembrance Day afternoon…
it felt like -4° Celsius and there was a bit of wind although the sun was shining brightly…
we walked a little bit past the distance we did last time…
we spotted two deer and watched them for a few minutes before they bounced along the ditch beside the path…
we were dressed for the cold and were very comfortable… then this person passed us;-)…
I guess different strokes for different folks…

picked up an amaryllis when I was out grocery shopping on November 8th…
I am a bit sceptical whether it will do anything as it did not look very good…
the bulb was shrivelled with some dead bits at the top…
but, I planted it and put it close to a heating vent and have my fingers crossed;-)…

a friend dropped by for a visit on Saturday morning and brought me a few books…
a bit later my housemate and I went to Globosapiens to pick up some additional books… this time I chose some new releases as well as some of the authors I usually read…
the Halloween decorations had filled up most of the stairs as there were very few books left to read…
I took this (⬆️) photo on November 1st before the decorations came down…
now, the stair library is booming once again;-)… woohoo… I haven’t been enjoying the current read, so may just put that one aside and start on one of these;-)…

on Thursday I cleaned the poppy bird feeder and attached it to the front rail…
I noticed that I’d set it out a bit earlier last year…
I also dug out two poppies to put on my jacket and t-shirt…
last year I had purchased some little button pins to keep from losing them, lol…
I still make sure to make a donation as, before the pin, I ended up losing a couple and needing to replace them, lol…

I am absolutely thrilled with the job Vicky’s Alterations did putting zippers in two hoodies…
I had stopped wearing one although it was very comfy… unfortunately, it was just too difficult to take it off…
it looks great and like it always had a zipper in it…
now it is easy to get on and off…
the zipper matched perfectly on the second hoodie…
so happy;-)…

my tea towel on the stove, folded very nicely by the cleaners who were here a few days ago, reminded me of how blessed I am…
for years we couldn’t afford a cleaner…
but for the last number of years I’ve had a company come in once a month to do the basics which makes me feel like the house is mainly clean, lol…
I am ever thankful to my beloved who made this wonderful gift possible;-)… I continue to miss him every single day…

it was a beautiful sunny day as we went for another walk along a different section of the Harte Trail the other day…
the sunshine was glorious and the path was dry…
this portion had a canopy so it felt as though we were walking in a bit of a tunnel… can’t wait to walk this one in the summer when the leaves are overhead…
beautiful trees and a lovely sky… an excellent way to get our exercise in when we can’t make it to the pool…
also tested out my new boots;-)…

cleaned out the first of the garden water pumps last week…
always happy when they are all clean-ish and packed away for the winter…
this morning I was able to pull out, clean and put away the last two…
all the jobs in the garden are done and it is now ready for the winter…
