the water lily has been sitting inside the backdoor in a pail of water for over a week and the water is rather smelly, lol…
finally took it out of the pail and trimmed all the dead leaves… there was even a bud as it was trying to bloom again…
then it went into the biggest tank…
looks good, but we will see if it survives the winter as the fish may eat the whole thing🤪…

so happy when a tidying streak continues, lol…
spent some time in the front door area sorting through bins and baskets…
filled another box with pass-alongs without any difficulty… including purses and bags…
all of the gloves went into one of the Ikea bins which will make them much handier and easier to find…
one basket holds all the hats, a second one all of the bags (some of which had been hanging from the coatrack taking up space), the third one holds all of the bottles and sprayers for critters and fancy shoe cleaners, and the last one holds binoculars and extra tape measures…
much more organized and easier to see which one holds which items…
just noticed how many purple things there are, lol…

had a productive day…
first thing in the morning I gathered up all the Halloween and Thanksgiving decorations and packaged them up into their boxes…
the boxes are still open and will remain that way for a few days, in case something got missed, lol…
then I went out and turned on the tap on the front yard rain barrel to empty it… next step will be to flip it over for the winter…
later on, I went through the bedroom closet and packed away the summer clothes for the winter and filled a box with pass-alongs…
always pleased when the sorting goes easily;-)…

finished up the project in the garage Wednesday evening…
I spent some time earlier in the day, moving as many boards as I could out of the way so the table was usable for sawing, lol…
it was rather chilly out there, but we persevered and finished the new shelves…
then we spent time organizing all the shelves along that wall…
in the end it looks very tidy… wonder how long it will stay that way…
on a roll, “we” then moved a few items from the garage and all of the lawn furniture into the shed…
the garden will look much nicer over the winter without all the furniture covered in a big tarp on the back deck…

went for a walk on the Harte Trail section of the Trans Canada Trail with my adventure buddy…
it was quite lovely, other than the puddles from the recent rain, lol…
we may have seen some cedar waxwings, although they were a long way off and high in a tree…
I am looking forward to going back in different seasons to see the changes…
we had a fun time;-)…

a few fish came into the house around Thanksgiving…
on Tuesday morning we went out to collect the rest, as it is seems to be getting cooler every day…
part of the process was to empty a good amount of water, particularly as the pond was as high as I’ve seen it, since we’ve had so much rain lately…
then it was fairly easy for my housemate to catch the remaining fish…
once they were in the tanks, I counted thirty, which is about right, so we were pleased that we’d got them all…
we will check the pond over the next few days to see if there are any stragglers that we missed…

had a conversation the other day about often putting my foot outside of the blankets to sleep…
I’d seen something on social media saying it can help a person go to sleep…
one person agreed they did it all the time, but another said they’d never heard of that, or done it…
so, I went online and found the following:
early this morning I tried to get a photo of my foot outside the sheet and blankets…
it was entertaining to get the photo in the dark, lol…

had a delicious dinner last night…
our company chose Chinese food, so I tried to order from our favourite spot, around 5:30…
it took at least ten minutes and numerous attempts to get through… apparently everyone in the city wanted Chinese food too…
and then, the pick up time was an hour and a half, yikes…
but, when we got it, it was as always, delicious 🤤…

well, what a day, phew… it was chilly, overcast, and windy…
spent the morning in the garage moving bits and pieces out into the driveway to make room for an empty table to work on…
then my housemate met up with his grandfather to go and pick up lumber for the new shelves planned for the basement and the garage…
once he returned home, we moved more things and then updated a shelf beside the door for my gardening gloves and tools…
it is stronger, looks amazing, and now each tool is much more accessible underneath;-)…
we worked on the basement shelves, his brother arrived, and they finished them…
they ended up looking excellent and adding more useful space for organizing our stuff, lol…
they continued to work in the garage to redo a section of shelves and add counter space…
I didn’t quite get a picture of the finished product, before we moved all the bits and pieces back into the garage for the night…
it is going to be so organized that I might not be able to find anything 🤪…
