yesterday, after getting the den turned into a guestroom, I put a quilt on the bed for when my Ottawa daughter arrives;-)…

today, this memory came up on my Facebook page… it was from eleven years ago when her friends came and redid my bedroom… it was a wonderful gift as shortly after that I had surgery and spent a lot of time in the bedroom…

too funny that I chose that particular quilt;-)… and a reminder of that wonderful gift…

today, as I was enjoying the dill pickle soup that I didn’t eat when we were at Taverna Rodos on Monday, I remembered a lovely story shared by a friend…

with the soup, they included some Premium Plus Salted Top Cracker look-alikes… because the box is pretty big I haven’t had them in a very long time, so it was a nice treat… my favourite way to eat them is as a little sandwich, with butter or margarine…

my friend and their family really enjoy food, so they had quite a variety of crackers in their home…

one day one of the kids came home and advised that they had just had the most delicious crackers and that the family should get some…

it took a while, but eventually they were able to name them as Premium Plus Crackers…

so funny that with all the fancy crackers they had, the kids had never had the Premium ones…

such a chuckle, particularly as in my home that was the only type of cracker we ever had;-)…

on Monday our BS group went to Taverna Rodos for lunch to celebrate an upcoming birthday… it was very hot so we chose the inside and had a great time…

I had liver and onions with gravy, along with a salad and French fries… it was wonderful and I enjoyed every bite…

other dishes included lemon rice soup, souvlaki, steak sandwich, and a chicken and Caesar salad… and maybe a few desserts;-)…

fun times as we considered how long we’ve used the birthday bag and the photo on it, lol…

lots of sharing, laughter, and some singing…

on Friday, Hilda the Gardener arrived just before a thunderstorm to work in the garden… while we waited for the rain to stop we made tea and drank it on the deck once the storm was over…

then she planted up the front pots and moved a few things around in the garden…

the pots were filled with the bits and pieces left over from the plant collection that hadn’t made it into soil… they look pretty good considering, lol…

met up with a friend and went for a walk at the Park… great to visit and catch-up;-)… and get some exercise at the same time…

need to get back to a regular routine of walking over and around the Gardens…

I may have gone just a bit further than I should have… one of my feet was just a touch irritated with me… but so wonderful to enjoy the Gardens…

enjoying every spring/summer day;-)…

last Sunday I set out the cushions and had breakfast on the back deck… followed that up with some reading…

headed out to look for a few plants and found a whole trunkful

on our way home we stopped at Tim Horton’s and picked up chicken and cilantro wraps… very tasty… the kids are always introducing me to new things…

once home, the baskets were hung up and then a bit more reading happened on the back deck…

for whatever reason the poppies opening is a huge deal for me…

this morning Facebook shared a memory from this date in 2012 when there was an abundance of poppies blooming…

and when I went into the garden, the first one this season was open…

what a treat, and a lovely reminder of my beloved, who also loved poppies;-)…

the weather presented a variety of options on Monday… from hot and sunny to rainy, to thunderstorms, we had them all…

after seeing how much rain was possible, I decided to set up for our Monday gathering in the garage…

the motorcycle got moved to the back of the space and chairs and tables were moved in…

I also added the lilacs that my neighbour gave me in the morning as well as some suntea

it was lovely, particularly when the wind blew through the space, and watching and listening to the rain coming down was delightful…

so far the fuchsia, mandevilla, Japanese Maple and most recently, the hibiscus, have made it outside…

the Maple went behind the waterfall and the others have moved into the shade for a few days to acclimatize to the heat and sun;-)… the mandevilla kept getting blown over so it is currently being propped up with chairs…

there is a lot more space in the living and dining rooms, lol…
