when the cleaners were here last week, I heard a crash and one of them brought me this angel… in three pieces…

it was put on the kitchen counter and my housemate first glued on one piece, left it for a few days and added the other piece…

he is much more precise when putting things together, lol… reminds me of my beloved;-)…

she is now put together nicely, although missing a hand, but we haven’t found that piece…

still, she has joined her sisters on the bedroom shelf…

turned the mattress and changed the sheets on Sunday morning…

it is feeling much springier, lol…

also put away the big, heavy, sun and stars blanket and brought out one of the afghans I made a number of years ago;-)…

can’t wait for more sunshiny warm days…

the fireplace made its way to the garage on October first…

it stayed there for quite awhile… during that time my housemate put it on a few for sale sites…

there were very few inquiries, but we weren’t in any rush to get rid of it…

recently, a woman came, measured it, and arranged to pick it up when she found some strong backs to help with lifting/carrying, lol…

she arrived a few days later, with a helper, and with my housemate’s assistance, got it into her vehicle…

its new home will be at her dad’s cottage where it will be installed outdoors;-)…

sprang forward this morning, lol…

it is so much easier these days… most electronics in the house automatically change…

now the only items I have to change are the stove, microwave, coffee pot, and grandparent clock…

I didn’t mind the process even before then because it was simple to change a phone, or anything else, by moving it forward, unlike changing it backwards in the Fall…

yesterday I had lunch on the deck… in my winter coat and bare feet, lol… I must say, my fingers were cold by the time I was done, lol…

today, I was out without a coat, although I did have a blanket over my legs and slippers on…

I spent hours out there in the sunshine and didn’t come in until the chair was in the shade at which point it was too chilly to stay out…

reading, a lovely lunch, and warm fingers;-)…

spent a good part of Friday watching two elm trees across the creek being removed…

they’ve had the deadly orange dot on them since the fall, a sure sign their time was up…

because they were in a field it was obviously more difficult to take them down as they couldn’t get one of the big trucks close to them…

it was entertaining;-)…

had a fun time remembering the “installation” which a friend helped me install a number of years ago as I was making adjustments to them…

the installation consists of twenty-nine photos of water lilies which I had taken…

over the years a number of the pictures had slipped in the frames and I finally got around to removing them one by one and taping the photos to the matting before reinstalling them on the wall…

there had been wine and a lot of laughter as we worked away to get all the pictures up on the wall, lol…

this time my housemate was able to help with the pieces I couldn’t reach, lol…

happy to have this project completed…

I’ve been a bit off, and grumpy, for the last little while, and it wasn’t until I was talking with my daughter that I realized the cause…

I hadn’t been paying much attention to the calendar as most of the time feels like Saturday or Sunday now that I am retired, lol…

it has been thirteen years to the day since my beloved passed…

feels a bit like it snuck up on me although in the past month I have had several dreams about finding him in the hospital with a disconnected breathing tube in his mouth… no one had told me he was dead…

seems strange that after all this time I can still be whacked with the grief…

the good news is that once I figure out what has been causing the discomfort, it usually passes and I am able to move forward in a more positive frame of mind…

I don’t forget him, but can get back to remembering all of the wonderful times we had together and make new memories of the wonderful life that I do have…

this photo of trees is one of the last I took with him… we had taken a drive through the park to see the hoarfrost…

so many wonderful memories;-)…

time to change up the drawer in the living room table for this next season…

put away the L O V E letters, butterflies, and dragonflies that have been in it since sometime after Christmas… I also packed up all of the heart decorations that had been out…

I put a colourful sarong in each of the four squares and then put all the crystals, which had been part of the last display, back on top of them…

looks good and I topped it off with my rock bowl filled with my Crystal Oracle cards;-)…

went to Costco on Wednesday morning and clearly picked a great time as parking was easy and the store wasn’t too busy…

I was very happy that the frozen raspberries I use were not a product of the USA, and neither was the Parmesan cheese…

it is kind of difficult on most packaging to find the information that tells you clearly where it comes from 😬…
