well, it was called a blizzard, but it just felt like a lot-of-snow day, lol… Google tells me we had about two inches…
it looks pretty now that the sun has returned… and everything is very quiet… not sure how long that will last before cars and people take over the street…
hopefully, someone else is going to shovel the sidewalks;-)…

well, that was a process;-(…
cleaning the pumps is not one of my favourite jobs, but I have gotten pretty good with it now that I have no choice, lol…
both tanks were getting murky which is the sign that the entire pump needs to be cleaned… that means the tube and the three different filters in each pump…
yucky, but necessary to get done… small one went fine… I don’t even make a face when I am rinsing them by hand whereas before I wouldn’t even consider touching them…

when I dealt with the big pump it was cleaned and put back without any issues…
but, when I plugged it back in nothing happened, sigh…
tried plugging it into a few other outlets, but no luck… brought it back into the kitchen, dumped the water out of it and removed the actual pump, which is quite tiny…
then I took the two pieces apart, used a Q-tip to clean both and rinsed it out without getting the outside of it wet…
got it back together, plugged it in and it worked, phew… when the pumps stop working it is rather worrisome because there is the concern about the stress on the fish in the tank…
now to see how long it takes to clear up the water and get rid of the murkiness…

back to the toilet roll holder in the bathroom…
once again it was leaning to the side… pulled out the small screwdriver set and took off the outer piece… tightened the screws up and then reattached the main piece…
will see how long it lasts as I think the inner screws are stripped…

dug out an old watering jug so that I could set the vase of flowers into it and fill it with water so the floral foam inside the vase could soak up all the water it needed…
took a while, but after half an hour or so I was able to get it out with a bit of finagling…
it is amazingly difficult to add fresh water to the container every day, lol…

walked to and from the “A” on Sunday morning…
it took a bit longer than usual as it was icy so the walking was a bit treacherous…
but it gave me the opportunity to get a few photos of the beautiful trees…
happy to get outside and enjoy the fresh air…

this anniversary of my beloved’s death has been harder than usual…
not sure if it is having someone else in the house, going through so many boxes and letting go of things… maybe it’s been seeing his writing on papers as I’ve sorted through files… maybe it is realizing I’ve been without him for a quarter of the time we were together…
you’d think after eleven years it would be less difficult…
whatever the reason, I’ve been struggling…

got a call from the florist Friday, advising they had a delivery for me…
not long after, the doorbell rang and a parcel was handed to me…
when I removed the packaging, I found a beautiful purple vase filled with flowers… what a treat…
they were from the kids in Ottawa… to celebrate my beloved… today will mark eleven years since he left us…
time has flown by and barely moved…
I am going to enjoy these beautiful flowers and take many, many, photos of them as I remember all the wonderful times we had together…
I have been, and continue to be, blessed…

found my way back into the computer room to continue the tidy up…
filled boxes with giveaway items, put things into the garbage, and filled a container with recycling…
pleased with the continued progress and have actually been enjoying the process…

for weeks now the side door to the garage has been stuck shut… kind of like the doorknob was frozen…
while we were working in the basement, there was lots of garbage which we ended up putting into the garage until the bin was empty… having to go through the side gate and then the main garage door was a pain…
yesterday I talked with my neighbour in the lane and mentioned the problem so today he came by and helped me remove the knob… fairly simple when you know how, lol…
now I will know for next time;-)…
so, a bungee cord will be the fastener for the next while… and, apparently a new door is in the future…
