today I added a couple of books to my stair library…
picked them up at a Little Free Library on my morning walk…
both are from some of my favourite authors;-)…
this was a new-to-me library as I took a slightly different route today…

so excited when I got a text from my book-buddy saying she was on the way over with a couple of bags of reading material for me…
woohoo…
it was a drop and run as she had places to be, lol…
and then I restocked the stair library;-)…

we went to the oldest grandson’s other set of grandparents the other day for supper and had a lovely visit…
before we left I had access to their library where I got a bunch of books by an author that I had just discovered – Fern Michaels… the shelves looked much tidier before all the books came out, lol…
she also had two new Nora Roberts books I have been waiting for…
we filled a grocery box, woohoo…
I added them to the stair library in order and now I have reading material for the remainder of the summer;-)…
what a wonderful treat;-)… once the Olympics are over I will get down to some serious reading…

since the girls were born, I’ve been giving them books for birthdays and holidays… I’ve done the same for my grandkids, but now we’ve worked up to gift cards as it isn’t clear what they might like to read…
now I don’t really have anyone to buy books for, but I have a new neighbour who has just turned two, so I’m getting books for him now…
it is such fun to buy little people books…

a few days ago a friend dropped by with some books for me and in the process brought me a couple of my JD Robb favourites…
we have both read the entire series and she has the collection, so now I am going to start collecting the series…
two down and fifty-seven left to collect…

such fun on Wednesday as I went through my Nora Roberts book collection…
I reorganized all the books in alphabetical order and went through the trilogies and other items in the stockpile…
and then I ordered a few books to complete some of the trilogies…
can hardly wait for them to arrive;-)…

had a lovely time on Thursday…
started out with shovelling the sidewalk… my oh my, we had a lot of snow since yesterday…
then friends arrived to pick me up and take me to Polo Park to mall walk… it was very nice to be able to walk in a space without ice and snow, where there was lots of space, and few people…
forty minutes and three laps later, we went to their house and had a lovely visit and lunch…
we topped lunch off with a few pieces of dark chocolate…
later I was brought home with a bagful of books to add to the stair bookshelf;-)…
what a wonderful treat…

I haven’t been doing much reading lately… I was not enjoying the book I was working on and it really slowed down my desire to read…
also, it was cold in the living room in December, so that kept me from reading a bit also…
for Christmas I got a biography and it has been slow going, lol… a good friend brings me books all the time and there is quite a stack…
I decided to put all the books I have to read up the stairs… they had been looking kind of empty since the Advent boxes were emptied;-)…
a new version of a bookshelf;-)…
I think this is going to encourage me to get back into the reading habit…

I love to read, so was very happy that one of my presents was a gift card to Chapters…
we went shopping and I found five books, and a series which will be a gift…
not exactly sure why we went on Tuesday (Boxing Day), but it was worthwhile… the books were all 30% off with another 10% because of my membership, and then the gift card…
was pleased with the great savings, and looking forward to some good reads…

went for a walk on Friday… it was lovely out…
first stop was the Little Library I usually stop at… when I was last there, there were only a few books, so I went through some of mine and filled a backpack to drop off…
I also included a couple of the extra bookmarks I made last Christmas…
from there I walked to the Post Office to drop a package in the mail and on my way back stopped into Ultracuts for a haircut…
since my last visit, I may have taken the scissors to my hair a few times, lol… didn’t take long, or really that much hair being snipped, to look tidy again…
as I walked home, I stopped and collected some morning glory seeds from the outside of a fence… these flowers are a lighter purple…
I’ve been watching them for a while, waiting for the pods to be ready for picking;-)…
got lots done;-)…
