got these two little cuties while grocery shopping the other day…
the tree will join the rest of the forest once they make their way out for their seasonal display…
not sure if the snowperson will join the melt (group of snow people), or make its way onto the Christmas tree…

bought a few tree greens while at the grocery store…
dug out two birch branches, some small white twigs, and a stem of red berries from the shed…
went through a Christmas box and brought out some large ornaments…
last week I’d brought in the planter from the top step so it could thaw out so all the dead plants could be pulled out…
took the planter into the garden, removed all the dead plants and added in the greenery…
after everything was included, it was carried to the front steps…
added some solar lights…
looks good…

had fun with flowers Monday morning…
picked up the bouquet on December 29th when we were out grocery shopping;-)…
as there were already flowers in the living room, the bouquet went into the den…
the living room flowers were done, so I rearranged the newer flowers into three little vases…
playing with flowers makes me so happy;-)…

started the dismantling on Sunday…
so far the ornaments on the mandevilla were removed…
the ornaments came off the tree and it went downstairs…
next the chair returned to its spot by the window…
that was it for the day, lol…

been thinking of the movement under the Christmas tree, lol…
from being empty, to a few parcels, to more parcels, to parcels leaving, to more added, more leaving, and finally, mostly opened presents with a few waiting for their final destinations;-)…
a fun and busy transition…

had a lovely time on Sunday getting ready for a Christmas gathering with my friends on Monday…
dug out a snowflake tablecloth and discovered some stains on it so soaked, washed, and dried it before placing it on the table…
then I brought down Christmas plates to put on the table…
snowflake napkins and silverware, along with chopsticks finished the setup…
a bouquet of red and white flowers went into a low vase to finish off the display;-)…
we met on Monday and had a delicious lunch via Skip the Dishes… such a great way to share a meal together stress–free for everyone, lol…
before we ate, we took our annual Christmas photo, once I remembered which particular button to press on the camera, lol…
once we’d eaten, we moved to the living room to open our gifts to one another… always great fun and thoughtful presents…
such a special group of women…

made it to the most recent display at The Leaf…
we went around 7 so it was fairly dark in the Tropical Biome… a great time to go as there weren’t many visitors…
there were a few lit up flamingo topiaries and throughout the space there were lit signs about various birds…
there was also a cute Christmas tree made from individual plants…
the display in the Mediterranean Biome had lots of trees, lights, and poinsettias…
I also spotted a few amaryllis… some just starting to open, others in full bloom…
the trees were filled with ornamental birds and some birdhouses…
only spotted one of the seven succulent wreaths…
my plan is to go again in the daytime to see how it looks in the light;-)…
always a treat…

checked out the new Jysk on Wednesday…
had a walkabout and found paper napkins at a great price, so I picked some up… I only use them for special occasions, as I use cloth regularly…
then I treated myself to snowflake flannel bedsheets and a sweet red heart-shaped cushion… merry Christmas to me;-)…
didn’t wait for Christmas morning, lol…
fun times…

had a wonderful lunch date on Tuesday…
a dear friend came by with fish and chips and we had a delightful visit…
it has been a while since we’ve been together and it is always a treat to spend time with her…
we traded gifts and she headed off after some warm hugs;-)…

picked up candy canes and more oranges…
makes a lovely display on the table in the living room and ensures I have treats available whenever someone stops by…
I also picked up unshelled nuts (much harder to find these days) which have been a long time family tradition;-)…
