had lunch at Silver Heights Restaurant again today…

we had seen an item on the menu the last time we were there and wanted to come back and try it…

today there was no aquasize so we decided to go for lunch instead…

we had a Duke of Yorkie – shaved baron of beef, fried carmelized onion, mozzarella, horseradish mayo, on a giant Yorkshire pudding, served with au jus… with a shared side of onion rings…

it was delicious;-)…

went to our regular PTE play Saturday afternoon…

the parkade entrance was closed so we had to turn around and go in the exit… glad I wasn’t driving…

we were early so we sat down and shared a soft drink… as we were cheersing, a fellow theatregoer took a photo of us… reminded me of all the times I take photos of people at The Leaf, lol…

the play was interesting, but a bit long for my taste, or shall we say my bottom’s… after an hour and a half it feels as though the cushions give out, so two hours plus is difficult…

my buddy brought me cookies and two chocolates (individually wrapped)… toward the end of the play, I was smelling chocolate chip cookies and when I put my hand into my pocket I realized the chocolate had melted, yikes… ate the chocolate in the dark and then had to wipe down my hands which were a mess…

when I got home I checked out the pocket… took quite some time to get it clean… but the chocolate was tasty 😋…

last night we celebrated my beloved who departed fourteen years ago…

as always, some days it seems like yesterday, and others so long ago…

hamburgers and floats were eaten here and via the internet…

so thankful to have family around for these celebrations;-)…

I was wanting some comfort food recently and couldn’t think of what I wanted…

eventually I decided on Kraft Dinner… hadn’t had any in ages, but had a box in the pantry;-)…

it was delicious and just what I needed…

thinking back to Tuesday’s pancake supper…

besides the lovely pancakes, I made a potato pancake with the last little bit of batter to which I added a shredded potato…

topped it with sour cream and a slice of bacon…

this continues to be my favourite pancake;-)…

yesterday morning I started prepping for supper…

I sliced strawberries and then added sugar to macerate them…

later in the day I pulled out the pancake recipe from a well-worn cookbook and got the dry ingredients ready…

once my housemate brought home milk, I finished the mix and started cooking…

microwaved some bacon on the side and whipped the cream…

the first batch of pancakes came out perfectly… mine came from the second batch and may have been a bit darker, lol…

what a delicious dinner;-)…

yesterday morning, I spent a little while wandering around the house and adding in Valentine decorations…

in the living room (adding to the table which I did a few days ago), on the stairs…

in the bathroom, and the den…

on Valentine’s Day, I will make something special for my dinner, not sure what yet… my beloved and I would maybe have had steak and lobster or some special treat…

he was very romantic and always got me a rose and some little present to celebrate the day…

I’m always happy to do a bit of decorating around the house, and then spend time thinking about him on Valentine’s Day… I have been so blessed;-)…

went to Pho Hoang, which was one of our favourites when we used to go to aquasize at Cindy Klassen pool during our working days, lol…

had lunch at Gather Craft Kitchen & Bar before checking out Fleurs de Villes WONDER in the Mediterranean biome with my BS buddies…

it was nice to be inside after the -30°C walk from the car, lol…

I had the gyro – beef striploin gyro, grilled naan, cucumber relish, arugula, garlic tzatziki… I have had this before and, as previously, it was tasty…

other items at the table included the classic burger, the pasta with shrimp, and the house salad…

everyone enjoyed their meal and there were a few desserts afterwards, lol…

it was rather busy, so it did take a little longer than usual for our meal…

always a treat;-)…

my housemate decided to make apple crisp with all the apples he purchased and then forgot to eat, lol…

I found a recipe and we peeled, cored, and sliced what felt like a ton of apples before they went bad…

next he mixed in the sauce and then used the vacuum sealer to package two bags of the apples…

when he decided to make the apple crisp, he gathered the ingredients for the crisp portion, put everything together and baked it in the oven…

it came out delicious… reminded me of my beloved whose favourite thing to bake was apple pie;-)…
