a few days ago I booked my fourth visit to Fleurs de Villes at The Leaf in January;-)…
it is always wonderful to see and I have given a number of friends tickets to go (with me of course)…
seems like a perfect Christmas gift for anyone who appreciates art, flowers, nature, and creativity… especially after looking out the window and seeing this, lol…

my housemate treated me to fresh flowers…
lovely white and pink tulips, and a pot with daffodils, tulips, primrose, grape hyacinth and regular hyacinth…
sock a wonderful treat;-)…

checked out the new Jysk on Wednesday…
had a walkabout and found paper napkins at a great price, so I picked some up… I only use them for special occasions, as I use cloth regularly…
then I treated myself to snowflake flannel bedsheets and a sweet red heart-shaped cushion… merry Christmas to me;-)…
didn’t wait for Christmas morning, lol…

out for a lovely dinner a few days ago and came home with a box of delicious frozen treats…
there were five or six types of cookies and a few butter tarts, one of my favourites;-)…
what a delightful surprise…

one of my previous Advent Calendars, which my daughter gave me, is a lovely set of 24 hand painted cards with interesting quotes…
although it isn’t Advent yet, I have been choosing one each day to contemplate;-)…

spent a little time with the last of my bouquet subscription flowers…
I had divided the bouquet into two vases, but they were pretty much done, so I collected the last of the good ones and put them into two small vases…
one in the bathroom and one on the pass-through…
I am already missing the weekly beauties…

on Tuesday we made a trip to Costco for a few things, and came home with a birthday present for me…
I was treated to a very cool bird feeding station…
there were two tall feeders, plus a suet holder, with spots for two additional feeders…
it also has a baffle to keep the squirrels from getting up into the feeders… lol, we will see about that…
not sure the people who design these squirrel-free feeders have met Canadian squirrels…
today we put it together and went out to plant it in the front yard, at which point it started to rain… we made it in just before the deluge hit…
it was a bit crooked and not all the way into the ground, but when the sun came back out it got fixed and the filled feeders were added…
looks great;-)… what a lovely treat…

for Christmas I gave friends a visit to The Leaf to see Voyage by Fleurs de Villes… it was fun because they got the card at Christmas, and then we got to spend time and have fun together during some very cold days in the city…
I was so excited when I saw that it was coming as I had gone to a similar show with my daughter in a mall in Ottawa and had been blown away with the amazing creations the florists had produced…
this was my favourite, but all the florists did a wonderful job…
I attended three times over the last week and every time I was there it was filled with many people (although I didn’t feel stressed) and the place was bustling… besides being a great exhibition, it looks as though it brought many new people to visit the space…
I had conversations with folk who had never been to The Leaf, members who had been many times, and others who had heard from friends and family about the show and decided to come for this special event…
seeing it in the biomes was much lovelier than in the centre of a mall, lol…
spending time in this wonderful oasis is like a little vacation in southern climes… well, for an hour or so, lol…
my membership, to both The Leaf and the Zoo, has been worth every penny and the cost of a membership for a senior is very reasonable and means I can visit as often as I wish all year round…
it was a wonderful treat and I enjoyed each visit… I had considered going for one last time this evening as I hadn’t been at night, but the tickets were sold out…
way to go Winnipeg… hope we get more shows like this;-)…

one of my Christmas presents was a bird calendar from my grandson… it arrived a few days ago and is titled Extremely Accurate Birds…
I hung it up on Monday morning…
it has made me laugh every time I walk by…
