the sky was absolutely amazing this morning…

I took these pictures between 6:07 and 7:15 am…

the sunrise was spectacular… on the drive downtown the sunlight was streaming through the clouds… not a single red light all the way to the office… and by the time I got there the clouds had filled the sky…

just before I left the office for the weekend, I got a photo of my amethysts… today we heard a designer talk about the importance of feeling good in your workspace and as I get used to my office I do enjoy all of the bits and pieces that make it mine and make me feel happy…

once I arrived home I took a picture of a piece of the Rice Krispie cake that my sweet colleague brought me this afternoon…

was so busy getting ready to leave the house early this morning that I forgot to take something out for dinner, but made a veggie omelette… it was tasty…

and now for a four day weekend;-)…

yesterday I wandered around the house taking pictures of the flowers that I found…

there were some in the living room…

some on the dining room table…

and finally, some in the bedroom;-)…

that is really what I like to see…

as mentioned many times previously, flowers make me happy;-)…

a colleague advised she had to pick up this magnet for me recently, lol… she also took this shot…

and a close-up of one of the bouquets, that just happened to be purple…

this morning I had a happy surprise when I went by the window in the hallway…

it was around six am and the light was still glowing in the garden… the solar light had stayed on all night… surely a sign of warmer days and stronger sunlight…

had to go back to the bedroom to get my phone so I could get a photo of it…

as I drank my smoothie I also noticed the moon out the window…

every day is getting lighter… this makes me very happy…

today the hot tub got fixed… I am so happy…

this afternoon I was able to go out and attach the hose to drain it… this process takes about three hours…

managed to do this without kneeling down, which was great because my knee is still sore…

process was a bit dicey because I didn’t want water to freeze in the tub and wreck it…

my son-in-law stopped in on his way home from work…

he moved the hot tub out from the wall, had to remove one of the panels, was able to fix a broken fastener and finally screw the replacement arm in place…

he pushed it back up against the wall and I started to fill it… amazingly it didn’t even take an hour to fill up…

sometimes the pump doesn’t start as easily as it should, but today it got going perfectly… now it is heating…

because it is plugged into a regular output it takes quite a while to heat up… likely won’t be at the correct temperature for a few days…

looking forward to getting into it soon;-)…

been working on nametags for an event I volunteer for occasionally… off and on over the last week I’ve designed, prepared a list, merged it, printed, separated and stuffed them…

it has reminded me of the first year at my current position when I would agonize over preparing nametags for any events we did… for the longest time I would lose every seventh name on a list… then the printer and I would fight over the printing process… eventually I would come out on top, but only after numerous trips to the printer and a lot of stress…

since then I have refined the process of making nametags and enjoy the various steps, which is particularly handy as I make them all the time…

no matter what, it still takes a good bit of time and energy to get a set ready, lol…

happy the job is done…

so happy to see the Japanese Maple budding out with new leaves…

for a little while there I was thinking that it was really done…

this maple has travelled from Vancouver Island across the prairies in the back seat of a car, which makes it special… sometimes I have been a bit slow to bring it into the house in the Fall… thought for a short time I’d really messed up…

so I was very happy to see those leaves…

Spring really is coming…

two lovely signs of Spring today…

early this morning I was taking out the garbage and recycling… hadn’t been able to open the garbage container for a few weeks as it had frozen shut… happily it melted enough that I could finally open and fill it up…

as I was putting them out my neighbour came by and we had a short visit… it was warm enough for us to have a chat… he offered to bring them in once they were emptied… nice to connect with neighbours as the season improves…

and I was so excited later in the day when my BestCanvas picture arrived… it is a beautiful shot I’d taken at the Park of a lilac blossom and it looks amazing…

I’ve printed many of my photos and have a wall of my water lily shots, but it was rather energizing to have something on canvas… I feel like an artist, lol…

lilacs are one of my favourite flowers and another sign of Spring…

now, if the snow would stop coming, and the sun stay out longer, it really would be Spring…

bought a bouquet on March 5th…

yesterday I tossed out some of the spent flowers and rearranged it…

amazing how long they have lasted and how good they still look…

on Friday I picked up this orchid…

left it in the plastic over the weekend to carry it to the office…

and here it is in its new home…

haven’t had an orchid for ages… they always remind me of my beloved… he brought them home for me all the time…

flowers sure do improve my days;-)…

flowers, flowers, everywhere…

had roses delivered to the office this morning for the staff members who were away on Valentine’s Day… had to laugh because they were nicer than the ones we had… these ones came with greenery and glitter, lol…

and shortly after that our Manitoba Lung Association fundraiser tulips were delivered… the office was filled with beauty…

every day the sky is filled with light which lasts longer and is brighter, and to have flowers on top of that just makes me happy…

had a lovely time wandering around the office and taking pictures of the various roses…

I can’t explain how much joy I get from having flowers around…

seeing them wherever I turned brought a smile to my face…

between the roses and the fact that the daylight is getting longer every day my spirits have certainly been lifted…

now if only the temperature would start to rise in a steady manner…
