it was time to change the water and filter in the hot tub…
once I brought out the pump and connected it to the hose, I started the process at 10:20 am… twelve minutes later the pump came out and I emptied the last little bit of water with a pail and cloth… that took another twenty minutes…
once the new filter was in, I brought out the hose from the basement, repaired a piece of it, and hooked it back up to the outside tap…
filling the tub took about an hour and a half and just after 1 pm, the electricity was back on and the heating up process began…
it had been warm during the day and there were a ton of icicles over the tub, so I sat in the opposite corner from usual so nothing could fall onto my head, lol…
as I stepped outside I could hear the ice crystals falling so I grabbed my cap to protect my glasses…
it was a bit chilly for anything above the water as the ice crystals continued to fall…
I am still having trouble with the Ring light, which I have to turn off from the garage, no matter what I try on the app…
I was out for quite a while and when I came inside I realized how much snow had come down, lol…
took a trip to Canadian Tire to find a new hookup for the hose… we weren’t sure if it was the actual hose or the valve… happily it was the valve, which was much more economical than a new hose, lol…
the new one turns much easier so the old pliers can make it back into the toolbox…
then, the hot tub was topped up… it was rather low… and the cold tub was dumped and refilled…
finally, the new saucepan and small frying pan got added to the kitchen wall;-)…
well, last night, when I went out for a hot tub, I put on my water shoes and toque…
the toque always reminds me of my beloved;-)…
when I’d gone out the night before and climbed up the steps in my bare feet, they were cold;-(…
and so it begins…
I was feeling bad about needing them already, but when I looked at previous times I’d started wearing them it had been towards the end of October, so I guess I shouldn’t be complaining…
at 5:30 Tuesday night l started to change the water in the hot tub…
a bit late to start the process, but that was how the day had gone, and it really needed to be done…
turned it off, brought up the pump, connected it to the large hose and within twenty minutes it was almost empty… it is so much quicker with the larger hose…
next I had to climb in and scoop out the last of the water and give it a good wipe down… that part always takes time, usually half an hour or so…
finally, after putting in the new filter, the water started to go in…
forty-five minutes later it was full and ready to be turned back on…
plugged back in and by Thursday morning it was ready for chemicals… it takes about five different ones, which go in one every twenty minutes or so, to get it ready for jumping in;-)…
had a nice time in the hot tub that evening, especially after all the work that had gone on over the last week…
tonight I enjoyed another visit to the tub and although it was overcast, it wasn’t raining or windy, lol… yay…
