last night I spent a few minutes at the front door trying to get a photo of the tiny sliver of moon and Jupiter…
I should have got out the tripod, lol…
it was fun to watch as the moon slowly was covered by clouds…

reorganized the chairs on the deck on Monday to face the sun…
then I brought out blankets for each one so we would be comfortable while we had our eyes to the sky…
everyone brought their eclipse glasses from October, when we saw nothing due to clouds…
coffee was ready, snacks were brought out and my friends arrived an hour early for our regular Monday gathering…
at first the clouds covered the activity but eventually we got to see some of the eclipse…
this was one of the two photos I took… I held the glasses over my iPhone’s lens and one of my friends pushed the button, lol…
it was fun to be together and enjoy this phenomenon…
another great experience with these wonderful women, one who was on FaceTime, lol…

Sunday, I removed the tarp covering chairs and tables on the back deck and laid it out on the driveway to dry…
then I moved the furniture and swept the deck… there seems to be way more cedar detritus than usual… all of it went into the beds under the cedar trees…
then I partially set up the chairs and table on the deck…
eventually the tarp was folded and put away…
there is very little snow left in the garden, but it is still rather wet…
now to wait for the area to dry up so I can put the chairs in their usual locations…

well, yesterday I gathered up all of the tulips which had clearly come to their end…
as I was carrying one of the vases, the petals flew all over the carpet… for the rest of them I removed the petals before carrying them anywhere, lol…
they lasted since March 30th…

months ago we made a concerted effort to clean, tidy, and organize the basement back room…
it got a bit messier when the furnace was replaced, lol, as containers close to it had to be moved…
after Christmas the holiday bins were sorted and put away neatly, but there were still many boxes and bins out…
the other night we finally got the project finished and it looks great down there;-)…
now to keep it that way…

went for dim sum on Wednesday… can’t even think of the last time I had it…
it was supper time and they worked from a menu, not just having the carts going around…
spent a few minutes with their fish…
as per usual we ordered too much, but that meant I had a lovely leftover lunch on Thursday…
it was delicious both times…
ended the evening on our way home with a cone from Dairy Queen…

time to update the living room table…
I decided on sarongs in each square and then books from various trips for me to enjoy during this birthday month…
ran the sarongs through the wash to get rid of any wrinkles and then filled in the squares… went with purple and orange… purple for me, and orange for my daughter, with whom I went on many of the trips, lol…
looks bright and fresh and I have lots of special moments to enjoy;-)…

it was a glorious day and I spent a good portion of it on the deck;-)…
we dug out the chairs and a small table and set them up on the deck off the kitchen…
I sat out in the sun with a light jacket and a blanket, but before too long it was warm enough to take off both… woohoo…
I also got out the windex and washed the table first with soap and then with the cleaner to make it feel like Spring on the deck…
it is now ready for Monday’s eclipse party;-)…

today a box of goodies arrived from the kids in Ottawa…
it was filled with treats from as far back as Advent and souvenirs from trips to Mexico, Paris, and Sicily… it included the last envelope from Happy Mail for Chocolate Lovers… and a stick with photos and documents from my former laptop…
what fun to open each item with its note explaining where it came from… now to figure out where each piece will go and start wearing some of them…
I am so spoiled…

what a lovely springish day…
this morning I spent time reading on the deck, in the sunshine… had a blanket and jacket on, but didn’t need gloves…
then a gathering with my cronies… even got a photo of the group with all the snacks… besides the mini eggs, pistachios, almonds, candy hearts, and chocolate mango pieces, hot cross buns and chocolate vanilla pinwheel cookies arrived with the crew;-)…
after everyone left, I enjoyed more time in the sunshine reading in the living room…
sunlight and warm temperatures… and it is supposed to be warm and sunny all week;-)… woohoo…
