this memory came up from July 28, 2013, lol…
and this photo is from Friday morning, the 26th after a night out;-)…
it was cool with a lovely breeze, so once again no mosquitoes;-)…
the lounge chair was nice, but the air mattress is definitely more comfy…
it is so nice to have a sleep-out… like camping, without the travel, lol…

had a sleepout on the deck a few nights ago…
quite a few mosquitoes, so I didn’t go out until around eleven, and by then they were mostly gone… and there were none around in the morning…
this was my cozy little nest…
there weren’t a ton of stars, but the ones I saw were bright…
always fun to go camping, lol… and the washrooms are excellent;-)…

dragonflies have been flying around the garden like crazy…
some have been dropping eggs into the pond, but most of them are clearly snatching mosquitoes out of the air…
I’ve managed to catch a few when they are taking a little break;-)…

well, when I got back to the campsite after posting my blog last night, I discovered that my son-in-law had caught a fish… that was exciting…
after supper we sat around the fire and were attacked by a zillion mosquitoes… really… this is what the perfectly clean sink looked like in the morning…
followed some mallards around the beach early…
they didn’t want to play with me…
got a few pictures of the beach area…
spent most of the day sitting around and reading… relaxing… sunny and warm…
headed into the city late afternoon to pick up the boat… happy to have it with us and looking forward to some water activities over the next few days…
yesterday the boys deigned to all sit together and let me take a few pictures… in the hammock – where everyone wants to be – you can either look toward the lake…
or into the campsite…
we have arrived and the boat is settling in…

slept over at the kids’ and was up for a grade 5 farewell…
very well done celebration and it ended with cake and punch… someone had three pieces, lol… wonder how the rest of his day was… big brother even came along so he could see his former teachers… pretty good school when kids want to come back and visit…
squeezed a picture out of the family before they flew off in different directions…
after a bit of time in their backyard, was dropped at home where I had lunch and a nap… for my dinner I warmed up some risotto that a friend had brought to me a few days ago and made some coleslaw to go with it…
was yummy…
then headed to a local soccer field to watch the oldest grandson play… looked like it might spit a bit so I took a rain jacket…
good plan, because it poured for at least half of the game… but those kids just kept playing like troupers…
by the time it ended the sun was out and so were the mosquitoes…
when I got home I discovered that my shorts were very wet, so I changed into my jammies and made a pot of tea…
been a busy few weeks, but lots of fun…

started the day with this beautiful orchid…
so lovely and perfect… a friend says it looks artificial…
on my way out to the car, got this great picture of the datura, which is opening up more every day…
this morning at work a colleague brought me this adorable purple African violet… what a wonderful way to start the week…
tonight a couple of my BS friends came over and we spent time in the hot tub… it was delightful…
while we visited, the goldfinch and his partner came and ate at the feeder right where we could watch… when he first arrived, he sang a song to his lady to come over…
a wonderful moment in time to treasure…
ended the evening sitting by the pond as the lights began to come on, writing my blog post…
didn’t make it till the post was finished because the mosquitoes chased me into the house…

laying on my bed slathered in aloe… hoping it will help the crazy itching of my legs and feet…
apparently the mosquitoes had a good meal last night and the days before while we were camping…
when I was walking on the treadmill this morning, I realized I had worn different shoes last night at the soccer game… the shoes I had on this morning were rubbing against a number of bites… felt much better when I put on last night’s sandals…
after my walk I went into the garden and took a few pictures…
the mandevilla is covered in flowers and blossoms…
I am so drawn to the morning glories, which I’m sure is a surprise for you, lol…
looks like these morning glory flowers will be much bigger than the other plant already flowering…

been waiting for a nice evening to go camping…
on the deck…
tonight is the night… might not see any stars as it is still hazy, but you never know…
only concern is the mosquitoes… I do have a great comforter that can go over my head if necessary…
fun little adventure… I’ve been needing something special and am looking forward to going to sleep to the sound of the waterfall…
although there is a concert in the Park at the Lyric so I might be going to sleep to the sounds of Streetheart, lol…
we shall see…
was thinking back to our many camping experiences… we used heavy canvas tents, light nylon tents, a pop up trailer, and sometimes hotels… great fun over the years… enjoyed Birds Hill, Hecla, Falcon Lake, Rushing River and Sioux Narrows…
looking forward to spending a few days camping with the kids this summer…
but I do plan to bring my air bed:-)…

had a quiet relaxing morning as I didn’t start work until eleven… lovely to be able to putter around the house…
began to unwind on the drive home as we took the scenic route along Wellington Crescent… such a pretty drive, even went through the Park…
arrived home to find my friends in the garden with the cushions already on the chairs…
had a great couple of hours enjoying our time together as the sun set… lots of laughs and interesting conversation in a beautiful setting… although we might have spotted a couple of mosquitoes…
the newly potted plants look great…
I love this weather and the time I get to spend outside…

was in the garden by nine this morning…
filled a bucket with weeds as I tidied the garden around the pond…
I was hot when I sat down with my tea and kobo…
after reading for a while it seemed really hot so I checked the temperature and it was 33.9, guess that explains it… I spent time watching the fish in the pond and the goldfinch who stopped by… there was a big butterfly and a number of dragonflies in the garden… and many, many mosquitoes…
there are three light coloured baby fish and two dark coloured ones… they are likely gold coloured but in the pond turn black…
came in just after noon and napped and read…
just checked the temperature…
lovely day…
