Tuesday we went to aquasize as my buddy had an appointment on Thursday…

from there we drove to Oak Bluff, where we had lunch at Roxy’s Restaurant & Lounge… I was very excited to find battered mushrooms on the menu, so we started with those… and they were delicious;-)… then I had a tasty beef dip with Caesar salad… the service was excellent, the food good and it was a nice spot…

onward to Carman where we visited the Golden Prairie Arts Council to see an exhibition by Connie Bart Hamel which was filled with a variety of mediums… she is very talented and a neighbour of my friend…

we stopped at Syl’s for ice cream and had a lovely drive home in the sunshine…

wonderful day;-)…

had a bit of fun in the garden Monday…

there was a chill in the air, but we were able to install the arch in the side garden, and then I put up the trellises on the planter boxes…

the arch fits perfectly and it will be exciting to see what will grow up and over the path;-)…

while I was outside I managed to get the slinky back on the bird feeder pole and flipped the water barrel over…

started the day planting some tomato seeds and trying again with the datura, which hadn’t started a single sprout…

we will see if there are any sprouts this time… maybe one day it will be warm enough to plant outside, lol…

Monday another hole was made in the sky…

first thing in the morning a number of trucks filled up the street…

they were there to cut down one of the elm trees… I hadn’t realized that it had been marked…

it took four hours to get it down to the stump… and then they left… about an hour later a few of them returned and ground it down to nothing…

amazing how complicated the process is… it was interesting to watch…

took all the pieces of the arch out onto the deck and finished putting it together…




tightened all the screws and voila… done…

it looks very tall, and should work perfectly… sure hope it fits…

had to lay it down as the wind was picking up and I didn’t want it to fall over before it made it to its new home, lol…

still waiting for the last of the snow to melt so we can try it out…

Tuesday, the patio door was open for a good portion of the day… guess it is time to connect the spring again…

always such a treat when that day arrives each spring… spent a good portion of the day sitting on the deck…

started the morning in one of the new deck chairs… after I pulled out one of the cushions from the garage… needed a blanket and jacket, but the sun was shining;-)…

then I brought out the wicker set from under the tarp on the back deck… I purchased and put them together last year…

and got very comfortable… by that time the jacket was off and the blanket put to the side…

wonderful way to spend the first day that was warm and sunny enough to be outdoors…

on March 12, this is how the deck table looked covered in snow and with the very dilapidated old umbrella… and then on the 2nd of April when the new umbrella was installed…

Sunday, the chairs made it onto the deck… and Monday, the table got washed and the chairs set around it…

starting to look like spring;-)…
