another overcast and cold day…
I did get the dining table cleaned off, but with the cold outside, I didn’t want to move the last of the plants…
so they went onto a tray which went back onto the counter, lol…
the table looks great though…

since most of the plants have moved outside, and not necessarily into the garden, lol (as in, they are currently residing in the garage) I’ve been working away in the living and dining rooms for the last few days to clean up…
I actually found the countertop in the dining room… all of the plastic bags which were under the planters moved to the table so there still is that… the window ledges are all clean and tidy… although there might still be a bit of dirt that needs to be swept up…
tomorrow it is on to the dining room table;-)…
in the living room I moved the table in the window back to the den and reorganized the orchids…
the table is now home to my favourite bowl – a fused glass and rock piece from the East Coast – which my BS buddies gave me as a birthday gift a while back…
I am hopeful that the orchids will enjoy their new locations...

three deliveries yesterday…
another tool from Irwin…
flowers from a fundraiser which my friend picked up and delivered to me…
soil from Hilda the Gardener… which she then added to all the pots and planters;-)…
going to be a busy few days as I decide what will go where;-)… not planning to plant until Sunday after the Saturday night chill…

this morning the plants went out for a breath of fresh air…
I managed to get them all into the shade where they spent most of the day…
so far they look pretty good… hope they are as good in the morning, lol…
I’ve just moved them into the garage for the night and will bring them back outside in the morning…

the garden looks amazing…
yesterday, Hilda the Gardener came and spent a number of hours cleaning it up…
afterwards I spent time sitting out on the back deck… the weather has been delightful…
today I spent the day in the garden, moving pots around, and planting dahlias and some of my flower eggs…
I used a cookie rack over top of the flower eggs to keep the squirrels out, lol… wish I had more for the dahlias, but hopefully they won’t be too interesting for the critters…
when I wasn’t planting I finished a good book and started another…
enjoying the days…

spent a bit of time looking for a display plate to use for Sunday’s Afternoon Tea, and came across a few small plates that I had forgotten I had…
I’ve been wishing for some smaller plates so was very happy with this find…
now to find a spot in the kitchen cupboard for these cuties…
obviously I need to have a wander through the drawers a bit more often…

so excited to see two buds on the morning glories in the living room window…
had not expected flowers before the plants were moved outside…
usually it takes weeks before the first bud shows up, so this was amazing…
since then, those two have opened and many others have bloomed as well…
making me think that I might try to grow some over the winter… I could start them in the fall and then see what happens;-)…

today I took my dahlias, from The Dahlia Expert, out of the box and set them on the counter under the lights…
I’ve had them for a few weeks but hadn’t organized which pots they will be going into so they were just waiting in the box, unplanted…
this afternoon I watched a YouTube video that suggested setting them out in the light without soil or water… thought it was worth a try;-)…
if it works it will save a lot of carrying onto the deck and back inside every day until the weather reaches the sweet spot…

busy day yesterday…
spent time in the garage bringing the floor back into view…
the car hasn’t been here for an overnight since the fall so the garage has filled up with a number of things… a couple of the chairs waiting for their new brackets, a table with bits and pieces on top, numerous boxes, a few cushions not put into their proper place and some pumps…
I had moved a few items around the day before and yesterday I finished and was able to put the table away…
then I even swept the floor… Indi may not have recognized the space when she showed up this afternoon… my grandson didn’t even open the door when he arrived because he had been in it recently, lol…
had him put her into the garage and I opened all the windows and hope that any aerosols will be gone by morning when I need to head to an appointment…
