yesterday I had the great opportunity to spend one-on-one time with each of my grandsons… doesn’t happen that often, and rarely on the same day… great moments to savour…

first was with the youngest at the Fishing Hole where we talked all about a recent fishing trip and how he and daddy had caught a catfish… we also checked out the lures, looking for a nice purple one, lol…

after he and his parents had headed off to Lac du Bonnet for the weekend, spent time with the middle one as the two of us waited for him to be picked up to go to Kenora with a friend… we talked about bike riding, bunnies and watering the garden… we also discussed all the things he’s planning to do at his friend’s cottage… soon he’ll be able to come over on the bus for visits and to help me in the garden…

supper out with the oldest as he drove me home… he stayed in town as he is working over the weekend… we talked about rowing and car accidents and people who are difficult to deal with…

hard to believe that he is so grown up now… we had dinner at Red Lobster and enjoyed the treat… 

I was a bit nervous because I only had cash on me to pay for the meal so wanted to be sure we didn’t spend more than we had, lol…

I will be glad when I get the replacement credit card…

ended the day in the garden and took this shot as the solar lights were starting to twinkle on, one by one…

today I stopped in at the Apple Store on my way home from work…

for the last few days Siri has just started to talk even though I am not touching the phone… bit creepy actually…

I’d also had a strange message on the screen saying that Apple had found some viruses… 

right away I closed all the apps on the phone, but between that and the Siri chats, felt like maybe I should get it checked out…

got in to see someone at the Store within minutes and they ran a few diagnostics and it appears the phone is fine… they did wonder if I might be saying something that sounds like Hey Siri which would then make her respond… 

they also suggested turning the phone off every day so it could have a rest;-)… didn’t know it needed breaks too, lol…

then I found the watch repair section at Sears and finally got the links taken out of the purple band for my Charge 2…

came out very nice… now I have 3 choices for bracelets to wear with it;-)…

been thinking of some fun times with my beloved…

for years we tried to grow clematis… at one point we had one that grew for two years along the neighbour’s garage… then it died off…

we tried everything from putting rocks over the roots, to digging deeper holes, to trying different varieties… but nothing seemed to work…

we would laugh because one of our neighbours had one that took up the whole side of her garage, lol…

for the last seven years or so this clematis has grown up the side of the house… 

I’m always so excited when it comes up again… it is still rather scrawny looking…

but here it is with blossoms that are nearly ready to open… 

what a treat…

not quite sure what is going on but I am having trouble sleeping… this is unusual…

recently I’ve had a few nights with just over four hours of sleep… last night was one of them… not pleased about this and hope it settles down soon…

had breakfast in the garden and enjoyed the poppies that were blooming…

the sun was shining through the fence and trees and it was very peaceful… decided to eat outside to see if I could get into the planting mood, lol…

ran out and did errands… after I got home and had lunch I managed to do some planting… three pots done…

put one beside the pond… it has some moonflowers and pansies in it…

put the other two on the deck… one filled with morning glories and the other has a pepper, some cilantro and a few flowers… not sure that the alyssum I planted yesterday is going to make it… will have to wait and see… still have a few plants that need to be potted…

the fuschia and alyssum are doing very well beside the garage door… 

ordered in for dinner… was given a SkipTheDishes gift certificate a few weeks ago and had decided yesterday to order my favourite meal from Clay Oven, but had too many treats during the day, so decided on a simpler supper… 

all day I’ve been thinking about how delicious dinner was going to be and it was great fun to work until I was tired, knowing that it was looked after…

and it was delicious, as usual… savoured every mouthful… have the process down to a science now… when it arrives, I put the rice and potatoes away for a meal the next day and then enjoy the naan bread with the remaining meat, salad and side… today I was especially pleased that it came with palak paneer, one of my favourites…

sitting out by the pond as I write this…  quiet evening and the temperature is currently 25 Celsius, not crazy hot like yesterday…

the solar lights are winking on, one at a time as the sun goes down…

enjoying the moment… I continue to remind myself and take the time to savour what is going on around me at any given time…

another moisture laden day…

ended up outside for three different planting periods…

first time around got quite a bit planted although it always takes longer when trying new things or using new pots…

decided to put the four varieties of tomatoes into one pot on the deck… only one full size tomato… another is a patio size, which is a bit smaller and finally two types of small ones…

happy with all the purple pots… think they are going to brighten up the garden…

the rain came again so took a break and did some tv watching and napping…

bit more done when there was another break in the weather… just taking off my jacket as the sun was very warm and it started to rain again… moved the morning glories outside but didn’t get them into the planters…

looking pretty nice out there, even in the rain…

still quite a few plants to pot… this weather will give me a little time to think about where to put them… one problem is that I’ve bought mostly small plants, so may have to go out and get a few more taller ones;-)…

ordered a new band for my Fitbit Charge 2 online the other day…

took a while to get used to the feel of it as it is quite light and flexible… it has a magnetic fastener…

but the funniest thing is how it catches on things… magnetized things, like a grommet on my jeans…

the great thing is it fits my wrist exactly…

still waiting for the second one to arrive… it is purple metal, lol…

started my day with tea in my newest mug… it’s the one my grandson brought me from Chicago…

feels nice in my hand and keeps the tea warm…

out for lunch with my daughter…

had spicy mussels with flash fried Brussels sprouts… yummy…

went window shopping for plants for the garden… did pick up a couple of butterfly bushes… they are white and will smell like vanilla… not exactly the type I was wanting but these are supposed to be perennials… we will see… also got two water hyacinth… will keep them in the house till it is just a bit warmer…

have decided that I am going to focus on white, purple and blue for the colours in the garden…

thanks to both of my girls I found some purple pots… been looking for a while and haven’t seen any… on the phone this morning with my Ottawa daughter she mentioned that she’d seen some at Loblaws… my Winnipeg daughter took me to Superstore this afternoon while we were out and about and I found a bunch…

very happy because my pots have been cracking and breaking for the last year or so…

now to fill them up… as soon as the weather makes up its mind that it really is Spring, lol…

great luck with shopping… met the kids out Kenaston and my grandson headed off in my car and my daughter and I went searching for a few things on my list…

got the cutest little red barbecue that is being put together at the store and delivered sometime this week…

had to download this picture from the internet because I didn’t take one while we were in the store, lol… it has two burners, with shelves on both sides that fold down so it won’t take up too much room in the garage… and it has four wheels which will make moving it around much simpler…

then we found a purple sports chair… had seen one last summer and been on the lookout since then… it’s purple after all…  it has a little table and containers for snacks and drinks… will be great for soccer games and camping…

at the same place found two pretty plates… been feeling like my plain white with black on them are getting boring…

went to the new Outlet Collection Mall and I picked up a better quality garlic press from Think Kitchen… the Mall was a big space with many stores, some of them new to the city, but only appeared to have a few actual outlets…

had a teen burger for lunch… not exactly the best meal for me but I’ve been craving one, so adjusted the rest of my meals for the day… it is much better for me to have the food I’m craving rather than end up eating all kinds of things I don’t really want…

got dropped at home, had a nap and then made a ChefsPlate dinner… 

feels odd not to have the car, but my grandson will bring it back at supper time tomorrow…

busy, but productive day…

more fun today…

got to shop right in the office when a client brought in some nighties and pyjamas… she had a lot of purple and mauve, lol…

lovely colours and beautiful work… 

the most important thing for me is the feel of fabric… I have been known to feel an article of clothing on someone else without asking… 

chose a very soft nightie with little purple hearts… it is being shortened for me… seems like my favourite sleepwear is soft like a worn t-shirt but a bit longer… 

then it was off to Nick’s on Broadway…

have heard about this spot before but today was my first visit… been craving grilled cheese so ordered one which came with coleslaw and a pickle… it was okay, but not something I would order again…

great visit with a friend and former colleague… we’ve gone through some very complicated and stressful times together… always a treat to spend time with her…

back at the office had some success with computers and solved a few problems…

looking forward to having the next four days off;-)…

it was beautiful out and the first time this spring I’ve driven with the moonroof open…

ended my week with a trip to have my hair purpled… the process takes a bit of time but I had brought my book… it was nice to have a quiet time with nothing to do except read…

when I was leaving a deer walked right through their yard… how cool… what a treat…

on my way home stopped in at Safeway and got all the fixings for Easter dinner… tomorrow will be a rest and read day…
