a few days ago a friend dropped by with some books for me and in the process brought me a couple of my JD Robb favourites…
we have both read the entire series and she has the collection, so now I am going to start collecting the series…
two down and fifty-seven left to collect…

I spent a good part of Wednesday and basically all of Thursday reading The Awakening by Nora Roberts…
I literally couldn’t put it down, lol…
it was delightful and I enjoyed every page…
now to get the next book in the trilogy;-)…

yesterday I was sitting in the living room watching the snow fall gently outside as I prepared to do some reading…
thinking of how blessed I truly am as I send healing thoughts to so many in my circle and beyond who are struggling with difficult times…
having good health, a comfortable home, food to eat, and companions during these wintry days is life-giving and it is important to remember what a good life I have…

I haven’t been doing much reading lately… I was not enjoying the book I was working on and it really slowed down my desire to read…
also, it was cold in the living room in December, so that kept me from reading a bit also…
for Christmas I got a biography and it has been slow going, lol… a good friend brings me books all the time and there is quite a stack…
I decided to put all the books I have to read up the stairs… they had been looking kind of empty since the Advent boxes were emptied;-)…
a new version of a bookshelf;-)…
I think this is going to encourage me to get back into the reading habit…

I love to read, so was very happy that one of my presents was a gift card to Chapters…
we went shopping and I found five books, and a series which will be a gift…
not exactly sure why we went on Tuesday (Boxing Day), but it was worthwhile… the books were all 30% off with another 10% because of my membership, and then the gift card…
was pleased with the great savings, and looking forward to some good reads…

this afternoon, as I was sitting in the garden trying to read my book, dozens of house sparrows took over the space…
some were searching for sunflower seeds, some were getting drinks from the pond, while others were having dust baths…
and they were all chattering…
kept having to stop reading and watch to see what they were up to, lol…

spent Tuesday in the garden… the first part on the deck reading in the sunshine…
there was no wind, so I was able to flatten out and fold up the tarpaulin…
then I moved to the back deck and did a bit of reading before starting to remove the last of the leaves and water from the pond with the wet vac… it took a number of trips to get it done… but, I did it, yay…
next, I found the hose, hooked it up and started the water running… finally I hooked up the pump and finished filling it…
so happy when the waterfall started up… worth all the work…
what a treat to sit, watch and listen to the sound;-)…
garden season has begun…

had a great day in the garden on Sunday…
spent most of it on the deck, reading in the sunshine…
I also spent time working at the pond… we tried to take off the tarp a few days ago but it was too heavy as it still had a lot of water and a ton of soggy leaves in it… the plan was to wait for another person to help us…
I put the pump in the pond again… the other day when I tried this the hose popped off and gave me a pond-water shower;-(… this time I got rid of most of the water… then I put it into the tarp and got a fair bit of water out of it…
after that I was able to drag it out of the pond and bag the leaves… they filled half of a garbage can, lol…
then the tarp was spread out in the grass, hopefully drying, so it can be folded up and put away…
maybe in the next few days I will vacuum the bottom of the pond and fill it with water…
