I love my new leggings… I had ordered a large and an extra-large pair and as they both fit, have decided to keep both of them…
they have side pockets, but they open to the back, not the front which seemed odd…
but, because of that, my phone fits into the spot perfectly and doesn’t jab into me when I sit down, lol…
they are thicker and that is keeping me warmer inside the house, as I try to keep the thermostat set lower… although I think it is a going to get raised up before too long…

had a lovely day on Saturday…
started with six beautiful hibiscus flowers smiling at me;-)…
my grandson texted to say they were going to pick up some groceries and a parcel for me so we decided to have supper together…
I had a good time making stuffing and mashed potatoes, cooking mushrooms for gravy, and getting a chicken ready to roast…
in between those activities I watched speed skating and a Christmas movie, lol…
when the kids arrived we enjoyed a great visit and delicious meal… then he shovelled the driveway, decks and sidewalks… I truly am blessed…
it is always a treat to spend time with them;-)…

was out for the first full sidewalk shovel of the year on Thursday…
last week I did the very front portion of the sidewalk closest to the road, lol… but the shovel I used was not good… it was heavy and the snow clung to the metal…
we went to Canadian Tire and checked out all the options… finally I chose this plastic one…
it worked well and as there wasn’t much snow on the ground it didn’t take too long…
a bit later in the day, I shovelled to the back lane so that the garbage bin could go out;-)…
and then the snow started again, lol…
big quiet flakes;-)…

had a delicious supper on Tuesday…
visited the Wolseley Farmers Market and got some lovely items…
flowers; a beautiful pork chop; green, yellow, and purple beans; garlic; small new potatoes; little eggplants; free range eggs; an acorn squash; and a cob of corn…
cooked up, cooled and reheated the potatoes… then warmed up some chicken wings from the night before and boiled some of the beans…
yum…
looking forward to more delicious meals from this bounty…

last time we used my hair scissors, my friend advised they had lost their ability to cut, lol…
I’ve been looking for new ones and asking around about getting them sharpened, but with no success…
we’ve started going to the Wolseley Farmers Market and I realized a few days ago that there was a person who sharpened knives… I texted to see if he dealt with scissors and he responded that he did…
I took them with me when we went and he did a great job… he also let me know they were very good ones and would be excellent when he finished sharpening them;-)…
it was interesting to watch his process and see all the steps required to make them good as new…

Monday was a bit of a slower day with rain during the morning… we had breakfast out and I put the foodstuff back on the shelves while my son-in-law ran out to get a few things we needed…
then we took everything out of all the bottom cabinets, and while he washed the shelves and removed a few extra shelves in the back of two of them, I went through and set aside items for the giveaway boxes…
the frame and all the doors were primed and there were doors and drawers drying all over the place, lol…

went to the Wolseley Farmers Market with a friend and had a great time…
came home with a bag filled with beans, peas, green onions, a zucchini, baby potatoes, garlic, bread, a mushroom galette, and a beet and pesto treat…
and two gorgeous stalks of purple gladiola;-)…

I was sitting on the back deck reading on Saturday, after doing some weeding, and heard a car in the driveway…
a friend was running errands nearby and stopped in for a quick visit…
then we went to Leclerc Greenhouses for a spot of plant shopping;-)…
as time goes on, I am feeling a little more comfortable about going out and about…
I found a hanging basket, some alyssum, a trailing tomato that goes in a basket and a couple of other small plants…
once I arrived back home, I hung up the basket, planted the fuchsia, ivy and tomato… but still have to decide where the alyssum is going to go…

took me five hours, working off and on, to put together the new chairs, footstools, and table that I ordered a week or so ago and which arrived on Saturday…
had to take bits and pieces out of the large box that arrived on the front step, make a few trips to the back deck… and then drag the box to the back…
of course the directions were just pictures and it took me a while to decipher them…
biggest issue was working between the lattice on the sides of the chairs, but eventually I got it all done and had a lovely time resting on one of the chairs with my feet on the pull out footstool, lol…
needed that…

what a busy day we had on Thursday… didn’t even have time for a nap, although I did manage a short sit down in the garden before my grandson arrived…
he and I spent the day getting jobs done around the yard, and even a few in the house…
we ran out and were able to get all the necessary items at Canadian Tire, so it was a one stop shopping expedition…
things came out of and went into the shed… leaking hoses were repaired… an irrigation system semi-installed… pots moved… trellises put into a planter that had a bit of paint touch up done… and the fire pit problem solved…
what a treat it is to spend time with him… I try to savour every minute;-)…
