Friday, it was getting chilly in the house and I was wearing a vest and had a blanket on when I read, lol…
Saturday morning, the temperature was down to 17 so I gave in and turned on the heat…
I went outside to fill the bird feeders and when I returned to the house it already felt warm, woohoo…
not a good sign about the weather on the whole;-(…

been watching ads on tv for the Red River Ex, which is always a sign of summer…
they brought back some wonderful memories…
when our kids were in baton – so, quite a few years ago – my beloved and I worked at the gates welcoming guests… it was fun and paid well for the four or five years we participated… always so interesting to see how people present themselves…
people were either thrilled and happy to be there or irritated beyond belief, lol…
the other piece it reminded me of is how often it rains during the Ex, lol… rain suits were a staple… should be good for the garden…

had a few moments of fun today…
got our picture by the Winnipeg sign and one of a couple of geese there as well…
interesting how the Winnipeg sign draws me like a magnet whenever I am in the vicinity, lol…
the giggle was walking through some muddy paths to get to the photo op…
and then at the office I completely missed the beautiful job of reframing one of my colleagues did…
now the office is done;-)…

out and about today…
found some warm and non-skid boots for my daughter at Canadian Footwear… they still measure your feet there… who knew… these will keep her on her feet when there is ice on the sidewalks in Ottawa…
had a lovely visit and some delicious hot chocolate with Constance as we browsed and found just the chocolate that we needed at Chocolatier Constance Popp…
stopped in at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights to pick up my membership…
got a few pictures with the Winnipeg sign, being as we’ve done the Ottawa and Kingston ones, lol… a lot warmer when we did them… there is a new ice rink in front of the sign now… very cool…
and then popped over to see the ice castles, although they don’t open for another week… already look spectacular…
pictures came out rather well considering that my glasses were foggy from the cold…
pretty full morning…

the sky was absolutely stunning this morning on my drive to work… from the moment I turned east until I turned into the parking lot it kept changing…
from pink and gold to blue and mauve the entire time… didn’t have a good spot anywhere along the way to take a picture and I don’t think I could have taken one that would show the actual beauty…
it was a lovely start to Friday…
I’ve been giggling since I got home and discovered that the reason the love sign in the window hasn’t looked right is the fact that the o was backwards…
was a great chuckle for me and a good start to the long weekend…
