two storms during the night and the power was off… not sure for how long, but it came back on at 6 am… I know that because I heard what sounded like a car not starting… after a few minutes I realized it was the printer coming on line…

the sky was still quite angry…

when I got home had a beautiful view as I came out of the garage into the garden… even after an all-day overcast sky, the morning glories were smiling at me…

ended the very long week with a delicious treat… a bit of chocolate, almonds and two shortbread cookies from my stash, lol…

happy weekend;-)…

Ottawa day 7…

well, spent the morning in Ottawa and flew home this afternoon…

started out with an egg on an English muffin, with a side of pistachio/coconut bark, all made by my daughter…

we said our goodbyes and she headed off to work… took a bit of effort to get my bag packed… apparently the gifts for my daughter’s friends filled up my suitcase, lol…

then finished taking a few pictures… of the chocolate stash…

final job was to wash the last of the dishes… this is becoming my trademark whenever I am with my kids… but really, fairly easy to manage, lol…

had my bags at the front door when my daughter surprised me by coming home for an hour before I left…

while I waited for my flight caught a few Pokemon and collected items from three PokeStops which were right at the gate…

touch down… home…

had a wonderful, crazy busy, and memorable week…

had a wonderful evening with some amazing women…

a delicious dinner where we shared stories and updates on our lives… followed by a few chapters of a very interesting book with some thought provoking questions…

these women have been with me for many years and through many experiences… some quite amazing and others very difficult…

at the end of our gathering out came someone’s stash of fabric for a quilting project… many of these women are serious quilters…

  

I have been a fabric collector for a number of years… I have gathered it, but don’t actually make things… use it for decorative purposes… 

haven’t been in a fabric store for at least five years, but I must say that looking at the stash did make my fingers itch a bit… 

my life has changed and I don’t have a need for fabric at this point in my life, but do enjoy seeing what’s out there…

met with my ReImagining friends tonight…

wonderful group of women who continue to search for new ideas and share deep thoughts and feelings…

  
lovely supper and check-in before we had a great conversation about soup and how it could be a metaphor for life…

had a request for spiral fabric… so once I got home, I dug through my stash to see what I had… 

for years my fabric has been referred to as rags following a comment by a former colleague who once referred to my numerous pieces as rags… made me giggle considering how much I had spent over the years on my collection… and so the name stuck…

I don’t sew or quilt, I collect fabric… used for all types of things, but mainly as a decoration to make spaces look better, prettier, more comfortable…
