so pleased…

in January, 2020, after a visit with the kids in Ottawa, I put the paper towel roll away in the cupboard and began using cloth instead in an effort to reuse and not waste…

I replaced that roll in March of 2021… that was fourteen months…

yesterday I used the last piece from that roll… that is sixteen months;-)… doing better…

the old cloth napkins, face cloths and finger towels have worked beautifully and wash very well… and they were all extras that were in drawers around the house…

today I put a new roll in the cupboard and will see how long this one lasts…

I have been surprised at how easy the transition has been…

just a small change, but it makes me happy…

the sky was overcast and it was spitting this morning, but the lovely mini roses on the kitchen counter looked gorgeous…


took this just before leaving the house at seven…

there are lots of plants with flowers on them all over the house because it isn’t  warm enough to put them outside… sure do make me happy…


a young friend is working on some containers with airplants so I took a picture of mine… think I might search out some moss to put in the bottom of them…


the sky caught my eye around 6 tonight… rather foreboding…

and by 8 it looked like this…


nice transition… sadly, it has gone back to the dark overcast…

was up and out early, so I am heading to bed as I’m tired… another early day tomorrow…

early this morning the sky was beautiful with some lovely clouds…

  
checked on the morning glory and mandevilla… still trying to bloom even though it is getting colder as we transition into the fall season…

  
not long after that, caught a Flicker at the pond getting a drink…

  
the weather wasn’t so great and for the rest of the day, it was overcast with a bit of rain now and again…

when the kids came over, the boys worked to catch and bring in fish…

so far we have four or five fish who have made the trip into their winter condo… the rest were doing a great job of hiding… there must be at least a dozen left out there…

  
lovely to have some buddies in the house…

the guys also brought in some of the pond plants and they look nice in the front window…

 
will be interesting to see if they make it through the winter…
