yesterday, at 8:00 am, saw the beautiful trees across the creek with the sun shining brightly on them…
at 11:30 big beautiful snowflakes were coming down…
at 5:00 pm the sun was shining and water was running down the street…
lots of changes throughout the day…

what a delightful time I had yesterday…
spent an hour and a half on the deck, reading in the glorious sunshine…
started out with a blanket and my winter jacket, but eventually put away the blanket and changed to my spring jacket… woohoo…
while I was out there I heard at least two skeins of geese fly by, although I never did see any of them, lol…
spent a few hours with my Monday buddies, read in the living room, and napped;-)…

the weather has been quite silly lately…
there was hardly any snow on the ground last week, but then it snowed all afternoon on Wednesday…
a lot of snow came down… the only thing I shovelled then was a path to the hot tub…
very late that night my housemate shovelled the sidewalk and two-thirds of the driveway…
Friday I did about half of the bottom of the driveway as my friend would be picking me up on Saturday…
I was so proud that it only took me about fifteen minutes… and then my housemate did the same amount in five minutes…

went for a walk on Sunday morning… the front steps were covered with slippery ice pellets, so we walked carefully…
the temperature was around 0°C and it felt like -8°C… not bad and the wind was behind us as we walked towards Portage…
we arrived at the “A” and had a lovely breakfast…
it has been many months since I’ve been there and it was a nice treat…
breakfast here used to be one of our regular activities on the weekends… I would walk over and my beloved would drive… after breakfast we would head out in the car to do errands or take a drive…
it was nice to eat here this week as we come to the anniversary of his passing…
I sure do miss him…

Sunday night I really had to talk myself into going out to the hot tub…
it wasn’t cold, but it was snowing, sigh…
I do not like to get my face wet or my glasses covered in snow, so it was a bit of an issue, lol…
instead of taking my towel out with me, I hung it on the inside handle of the patio door so it wouldn’t be covered in snow when I got out of the tub…
made sure to put my peaked hat on over my toque… it had a bit of snow on it when I got back into the house…
on my way upstairs I took a picture of the garden, looks pretty but it was still snowing…
well, I didn’t break my streak… there have only been two days I haven’t been in since January first, both when the temperature felt like -41°C…

over the last week I have read three Louise Penny books, one after the other…
it appears that I like her writing, lol, so will be picking up a few more…
today I was sitting in the sunlight reading the last one…
I had fun setting up the selfie stick to get this shot, particularly considering that I don’t use it too often…
but I can now set it up, connect the button to Bluetooth and take photos easily;-)…

the weather report had suggested a good amount of snow overnight, and they were correct, lol…
yesterday morning the ground was covered with at least two inches of snow… it looked pretty though…
it was deeper where it had blown into drifts… which, of course, were along the sidewalks and bottom of the driveway, lol…
I went out just after eight and got the sidewalks cleared as well as a portion of the driveway where my friends park on Monday afternoons…
thankfully, my housemate shovelled the remainder of the driveway…
my friends arrived and we had a great time with lots of delicious snacks;-)…
a bit later a Hydro Inspector arrived and reviewed the work done by the furnace installation company…
I was very happy that this time we passed the inspection… yay…
busy, busy…

was so tickled on Thursday morning… I spent just under an hour sitting on the deck reading in the sunlight…
the temperature was 3°C, and the weather channel suggested it felt like -2, although the deck is often warmer…
it was a bit of a process as I had to bring out a cushion for the chair and a small table for my tea, lol… I wore my winter jacket and had my Assiniboine Park Conservancy blanket over my legs, although I was in my slippers and was very comfortable…
what a treat to feel that warmth on my face…
and, when I went upstairs to lay down, the sun was shining along the bottom of the bed, so I napped sideways, with scrunched up legs;-)…

so happy to see that all the solar lights came on after a day filled with sunshine…
what a treat…
the funny part is that this one set wasn’t working for the longest time (as in, over Christmas) but started up in the last few weeks…
and is doing a blinking pattern…
it is such fun to see them light up as it gets dark out…
at some point I guess I will need to turn off the trees in the planters, but I am enjoying them too much right now;-)…

so, on Thursday, the Manitoba Hydro inspector came to check the installation of the new furnace…
sadly, we didn’t pass inspection…
as he worked he shared what he was looking at and pointed out a few issues which he felt needed to be corrected…
once he was finished everything got written up and I had to sign the paperwork…
apparently the furnace company has thirty days to make the adjustments at which time I have to call and have them back to test it again…
the good news is that none of the items mean the furnace isn’t working, and because we previously had a high efficiency furnace we don’t have to have any adjustments made to the gas hot water heater until it needs to be replaced;-)… phew…
now on to the adjustments and recheck…
