more time working on/in the garden…

changed tables in the living room window to make space to be able to put more of the deck planters in the sunlight… once they warm up, I am going to fill them with alyssum and morning glories…

kind of exciting… I also moved the big planter onto the front step and will put it back into the flower bed in a few days when the weather is warmer…

filled the other planters with datura and morning glories and planted a few additional tomatoes… I’ve moved the tomatoes onto the dining room window ledge…

it will be interesting to see what sprouts…

did a bit more planting…

already have grape tomatoes and milkweed going…

added white alyssum and dahlias… I am not expecting anything from the dahlias… I brought them in and bagged them in the fall, but they don’t feel full, so we will see if anything pops up… if not I already have new ones ordered which should come sometime in May…

also put datura and morning glories in to soak before they get planted…

found this sunflower smiling at me in one of the planters where I will be putting morning glories, lol…

been busy in the kitchen…

I finally used the new steamer basket that I ordered from IKEA… it worked beautifully in the Instant Pot to hard boil some eggs…

it is an easy way to cook them and they always turn out great…

also made crackers from the Oh She Glows app on my phone… they are very tasty and do not have any flour in them…

this is the second time I’ve made them and they came out crisper as I thinned them out more than the first time…

planted the first of the seeds… spent time one day getting the containers set up… most of them have lids so they will be like little greenhouses…

used a couple of egg cartons for the grape tomatoes…

last year I popped some tiny wrinkled tomatoes into a bit of soil and they did very well, so I have decided to try again this year;-)…

I have learned to be ruthless and will remove some from each container once they start growing…

on Saturday, I spent the majority of the day outside…

did a bit of garden planning… had to bring out one of my beloved’s measuring tapes to do some checking of sizes of planters…

he had many, many measuring tapes… I have given a number of them away, but there are still a few around the house and in the garage…

put out a lounger, swept part of the back deck, topped up the hot tub and sat in the sun and read…

lovely way to spend time…

yesterday I got my appointment for my COVID vaccination… woohoo… was thrilled as the age limit has been going down very slowly… arranged for my grandson to drive me there and back when the day arrives…

so, for a treat, I ordered from my favourite Vietnamese restaurant – Pho Hoang… we used to go there after our aquasize class… in the before time…

the food always arrives quickly and is delicious…

I usually try to order enough for a couple of meals, so got my favourite shrimp summer rolls with the steak and brisket pho… ate the rolls with some of the pho broth…

I also ordered some rolled ice cream, although I only ate a third of it with my dinner… it was delicious;-)…

had a big bowl of pho today… and maybe finished the ice cream;-)…

had a lovely afternoon on the deck yesterday…

removed one of the feeding saucers and cleaned the table… that took a long time but it looked shiny when I was done… looks ready for a meal with the boys;-)…

then I sat in the sunshine and read… so lovely…

at the end of the afternoon I brought in the planters which I am going to use to start some seedlings…

looking forward to getting the planting started…

in January 2020 I decided to cutback on paper towel… I gave most of what I had away and only kept a few rolls…

I moved the one roll that was in the kitchen to the closet, so that it would be more difficult to get to…

I found a number of old towels and facecloths around the house and started using and reusing them… they sit on the microwave and when used go into a small bin that I have next to it, before heading to the laundry…

today I used the last piece from that roll and brought up another… wonder how long this one will last…

it is surprising how little you can use when you are thinking about it… next up will be the Kleenex…

got another batch of reusable tissues and had fun figuring out how to best set them out…

found a small Kleenex box, opened one end, folded the tissues over one another, placed them in the box, used double sided tape to close it, and popped the first one out;-)…

works perfectly…

then I dug out a small container to put the used ones into until they get washed;-)…
