a few days ago I separated the two commingled orchids… it was amazing how deep the roots had gone into each other’s pot…

after that I moved the majority of the orchids around… it is lovely now to see them all throughout both the living and dining room…

even many of the ones from the living room table were moved… the table looks a bit empty now, lol…

I am hopeful that they will all be happy in their new locations…

one of the things that makes me the happiest is spending time taking photos of bouquets…

yesterday I spent a good portion of the day taking shots from all angles with my Nikon…

as the flowers open and close I will have more opportunities to get some beautiful photos…

flowers make me happy;-)…

as I’ve been walking the figure-eight pattern in the living and dining room I’ve been thinking of my beloved…

he walked the same pattern as he recovered from his heart surgery;-)…

this photo (quite a few iPhones ago) is from one of our walks while he was still in hospital after the surgery…

happily, I have met my step goal every day since mid-January;-)… maybe I will up my goal…

how do you remember when you want to forget…

nine years… 469 weeks… 3287 days… 78,882 hours…

not the 41 years before that…

trying not to see the time at the hospital that day… keeps running through my head today…

this morning I made a donation to a program that is feeding hungry people… and to the Heart & Stroke Foundation… both will help people now and in the future… my beloved was always helping others…

ordered an A&W Teenburger for my supper in celebration of one of his favourite foods…

treating myself gently… sure do miss him…

don’t see people for days…

but today it felt like the doorbell kept ringing…

there were two deliveries from the drugstore… they forgot something when they delivered last night and I called this morning to add something else and they sent it separately as the courier was already on the way…

a visit from a sweet friend… we stood outside and chatted for ages;-)…

boys playing hockey on the street… they broke a car window and were looking for the owner… I was very impressed with the fact they didn’t just run, lol…

and finally, my grandson dropping off groceries… he had dinner while we visited…

I knew he was coming, so yesterday I made his favourite red curry lentils… got 6 containers out of the recipe… I had one last night, he had one while he was here, and took home the remaining four…

one of my go to foods is chicken leg with back on, or leg and thigh as I call it…

last night I baked the chicken and warmed up some frozen mashed potatoes…

the treat was gravy with mushrooms and garlic…

I was pleased with both the gravy and the potatoes… it was the first time I had frozen and then thawed them…

this is going to be a game changer as I can now make a good size batch of mashed potatoes and freeze them in single meal sizes…

I am getting more comfortable with the cleaners coming into the house…

my technique is to decide where I will hide while they are cleaning… I don’t emerge until they have left the house, lol…

today, I spent the time in the computer room and shredded a ton of documents… had to empty the shredder at least three times…

felt quite productive…

busy day yesterday…

in the morning I attached the Philip’s lightstrip that I got for Christmas from my grandsons… I had played with it a bit the day before…

I am pleased with how it turned out…

moved around more plants and made a meal that needs to sit for a day…

after that I finished with making a dozen cards from the watercolour painting I’ve been doing…

felt very accomplished, lol…

had some fun painting… well, playing with watercolour paint, lol…

got organized one day, when I taped the papers to a counter in the kitchen… thought that the height would be good for the activity…

the next day I tried different materials to paint with… used paper towel, aluminum foil, saran wrap…

it was fun to experiment and see what using each produced…

eventually, I was able to put them onto card stock… I am pleased with how they turned out…

since then I’ve done another batch… painted, separated the sections, trimmed the corners, put double-sided tape on them, attached to card stock and put them in envelopes…
