I’ve had fun checking out the birds on my Audubon calendar each day…
it has been interesting to see birds I don’t know and I also enjoy thinking about when I’ve seen those I already know…

had lunch with my buddies on Monday to celebrate a couple of birthdays…
ordered from Spice Circle the day before and we picked it up… we always need to check because many restaurants are closed on Mondays, which we have learned the hard way, lol…
we had a variety of items and found the food hot and tasty… my goat thali was very nice… the one thing I might change was the packaging as it didn’t all fit into one container…
but there were leftovers for another meal for everyone;-)…

the project for Saturday was to return the regular mugs to the cupboard and put away the Christmas/holiday ones…
first thing I did was go into the office to get the boxes out from under the dresser…
and they weren’t there… even got down on my knees to be sure…
kind of freaked out wondering if I had accidentally put them in the giveaway pile which had gone out before the holidays;-(…
looked in the basement, kitchen and all over the messy computer room again… then I checked in the den closet and there they sat… clearly I put them in there knowing they would end up upstairs, but thinking I would save some steps when it came time to repack them…
whew… that got the blood pumping, lol…
didn’t take too long to get them changed over and looking good…
they sat on the stairway and then made it upstairs to wait for next Christmas…
and they will go to the spot I expect them to be…
in the dresser, in the office closet, not underneath it, with a label on the front🤪…

the Audubon calendar for Friday and Saturday was a chickadee…
and yesterday a memory came up on Facebook of me feeding a chickadee in Mer Bleu three years ago while I was visiting…
I had hoped to train my chickadees to eat from my hand, but so far, no luck…
I did catch this little one dashing to and from the feeder, lol…

Friday is garbage and recycling day and I usually only take mine out every three or four weeks…
Thursdays are the day to take them out and put them into the lane… I am blessed because my neighbour snowblows behind his garage so there is a spot to put them…
I find that I only need to take one or the other out, which is good because there isn’t always room for both, lol… this time it was the garbage, and I should have shovelled the snow on the path, but didn’t;-)…
now to remember to bring it in later on Friday…

had a good time at aquasize and then we took a drive to DeLuca’s…
I got spinach wraps, gnocchi, canned tomatoes and two different types of bread…
apparently I am still craving bread, lol… now I just need to learn how to cook the gnocchi…
once home I made two little peanut butter and banana sandwiches for my lunch…
they were very tasty…

ordered a light strip to replace the pot lights that have stopped working under the kitchen counter…
took a while to arrive and then I needed to read the directions a few times before installing it…
had to move the microwave and it took some effort but eventually I got the old lights removed…
then it took another while to figure out how to connect the app I downloaded and get the light to work…
and at that point I discovered that the new light strip didn’t provide enough light, sigh…
now to decide on next steps…

yesterday my new swim gloves arrived…
and they happen to be purple;-)…
our instructor recommends them as essential gear… can’t wait to try them out later in the week…

great excitement as I have discovered three orchids that are setting buds;-)…
this makes me very happy as January and February can be difficult months – usually cold and dull…
the one orchid which is blooming is sitting on the middle of the living room table and doing very well…
