one of my Advent calendar items was a phases of the moon one page calendar…
it is very cool and it has taken a while to decide where to put it…
it finally went on the bathroom door…
it is the one place that I pass all the time…

another organizing day… someone suggested I was having a new year cleaning, lol, as opposed to spring cleaning…
this time it was in the bottom of the corner closet where the tea towels, dishcloths, and “paper” towels (which are now small pieces of fabric that are reused) are located…
the space had got a bit disorganized, lol… too messy to share a photo, lol…
everything went into the washing machine, dryer, and then was all folded…
I found two boxes to add a shelf area…
looks lovely and tidy… wonder how long it will stay that way🤔…

we were looking for brown sugar and somehow decided to tidy the cupboards, duh…
everything came down, quite a few rather old items were discarded, and the remaining containers went back in…
then we headed to the grocery store and while we were there, found a couple of revolving trays and new spice jars…
once we were done putting groceries away, we added the trays, which of course meant taking all of the containers out again…
it is going to be so much easier to find the item I am looking for now…
then, we got out the label maker, which I am still learning how to use, and made labels as we filled the jars that would fit in the two spice racks…
now we are working on alphabetizing them;-)…
such fun, but we were both exhausted…

been on a decluttering binge… who knew…
started in the computer room closet and found some comforters to give away…
next I sorted the JD Robb books I’ve recently received and put them in order… there are still a few missing, but the collection is nearly complete…
and then I went through the Nora Roberts library to see which ones I could let go, lol…
I really enjoyed the trilogies, so was able to gather a fairly big pile of others to give away;-)…

spent a little bit of time in the kitchen…
went upstairs and brought down the regular mugs and changed them out for the holiday ones…
next, with help from my housemate, I changed out the dinner plates and saucers… it is always a bit of a process as one set comes down from the top of the cabinet and the other goes up…
step-stools are involved and I am always surprised at how much the Christmas plates weigh, lol…

was picked up by a friend and we headed to the Park Cafe for brunch…
I had seen a new January offering they had, and wanted to try it out…
the place was jumping when we arrived, but we had a great visit while we waited to be seated, which took less than ten minutes;-)…
we both ordered the special – maple pecan stuffed french toast – and hoped it would look as good as the picture, lol… and it did…
aaaaand… it was delicious and we both devoured the whole thing;-)… what a lovely treat…

while I was at The Leaf the other day, I got some great photos of various bulbs…
the amaryllis were beautiful and there were lots of them;-)…
I also spotted a variety I had not seen before…
and then I found this lovely white hyacinth;-)…
wasn’t able to smell it, lol…
I expect that they will all be gone the next time I visit…

went for a walk the other morning and admired the gorgeous trees…
I’m not sure if it was hoarfrost, or rime, or something else, but it was beautiful…
the ones on my street were lovely;-)…
this one was clearly snow but beautiful nonetheless;-)…
and this morning there was more beauty…

got a ride to Ultracuts for a haircut… apparently the last time I was there was early October which explains why my hair seemed to have grown like crazy…
had to have the top trimmed a second time as it was still a bit long;-)…
what a difference a trim makes…
I feel much more tidy;-)…

I ordered and received a skein of cotton and a fancy crochet hook last week…
since then I’ve tried to make a circle or square without success…
the plan is to make dishcloths for the kitchen, lol…
now I am making straight rows and hoping that will work… the good news is they don’t need to be perfect 🤩…
