today I added a couple of books to my stair library…
picked them up at a Little Free Library on my morning walk…
both are from some of my favourite authors;-)…
this was a new-to-me library as I took a slightly different route today…

ten years ago I was floating over Gatineau in a hot air balloon… along with dozens of other balloons;-)…
I’d been waiting over twenty years for this experience… for my fortieth my beloved bought us tickets to fly at home, but the company ran away with the money…
it was everything I imagined and a very special moment in my life… the memory continues to be bright;-)…

went for a ride on one of the Winnipeg Waterways Tour boats yesterday morning…
while we waited to board, saw some ducks and geese and had to take a few pics, lol…
our driver, Pete, shared lots of interesting facts, many I wasn’t aware of, as we travelled along the Assiniboine and Red rivers…
it was fun to see some of the city landmarks from the water…
I was happy to get a few nice photos of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights…
and this one from the back of it…
a lovely treat;-)…

went for a walk around the neighbourhood Friday morning…
was surprised at the huge stacks of sod I spotted at one point, lol… could not figure out where it was all going to go…
lots of flowers and a few people along the way, but no books of interest at either of the Little Libraries I passed…
the weather was lovely though, and I collected a few Poke balls;-)…

I picked beans for my supper a few days ago and had to use the step stool again, lol…
I also brought in the last tomatoes although they weren’t ripe…
I still have to cut the tomato plants down, but haven’t quite got to that piece of work…
it is always an enjoyable and relaxing job to top and tail the beans before cooking them…
and they were delicious…

as I’ve been sitting in the garden reading and enjoying the birds and bunnies around me, I’ve been hearing the Canada geese as they have begun to fly overhead…
I do love listening to their honking to one another as they head north or south, depending on the time of day…
of course, the sad part is that means fall is coming, sigh…

I’ve been watching the Paralympics and enjoying every sport I’ve seen…
so far I’ve watched the opening ceremony, swimming, running, and rowing, learned about Boccia and wheelchair rugby, and look forward to learning more about other sports as the events go on…
this time there are way more hours of programming, which makes me very happy…

was on the deck reading last evening when a Cooper’s Hawk flew onto the ledge about six feet in front of me…
moved too fast for me to get a photo, but this is where it was…
it flew to the top of the garage, sat there for a few minutes, and then on to the neighbour’s yard…
hope the little birds are okay…

so excited when I got a text from my book-buddy saying she was on the way over with a couple of bags of reading material for me…
woohoo…
it was a drop and run as she had places to be, lol…
and then I restocked the stair library;-)…

today, as we were heading out to do a few errands, the doorknob came off in my grandson’s hand as he was locking the door…
so, besides the planned errands, we also went to Home Depot to get a new handle for the door…
I was very happy that this happened when he was home as I wasn’t sure that I could fix it…
once we returned home, my fancy screwdriver came out, pieces were removed from the door…
the new pieces were installed…
and voila, a beautiful new handle on the door…
it feels much sturdier, and although the handle is a bit stiff, I think the door is closing and locking better;-)…
