to make cleaning easier I always put most of the items on the bedside table into the drawer before the cleaners arrive…

after they leave I bring the items back out…

I absolutely love the amethyst heart that I purchased for my birthday when we were in Hawaii…

it sits at the edge of the Google Display and makes me smile every time I see it;-)…

took it downstairs into the sunlight to get a good photo before returning it back to its spot;-)…

great excitement…

got a call from my next door neighbour… we are both readers and share books on a regular basis…

she was at a thrift store and found books by one of our favourite authors… she wanted to check to see if we had read all the ones that were available…

we chatted and went through the list that I’ve made as I’ve read the books… I used the list inside one of the covers and have noted each book we’ve read…

we discovered six… yay…

once she dropped them off, I went through the list and marked the books in order of where they are on the list, which is the order I will read them… I also included three that I had just purchased…

so, you may not hear from me for a while, lol…

had a busy day…

enjoyed the hibiscus which surprised me with a new flower yesterday and is still blooming, cozied up agains the wall;-)…

ran towels through the washer, folded and put them away…

it has been crazy cold here, but the sun was shining as I shovelled the snow to get to the garbage and recycling bins and then took out a ton of stuff, completely filling the recycle bin… will need to remember to put it in the lane for pickup day, lol…

did some tidying as the cleaners are coming tomorrow…

as I tidy I always remember how blessed I am;-)…

went out on Friday and shovelled the sidewalk and the path to the furnace vents…

it was cold and blowy, but there was quite a bit of snow that needed to be moved…

didn’t take too long and there was a lot of snow by the vents…

glad I got to it…

lots of butterflies in the Shirley Richardson Butterfly Garden… also many people…

the sun was shining so they were flitting about the whole space…

the blue Morpho butterfly is very sneaky and would not let me catch a single photo of it with the gorgeous blue when the wings are open…

next time I will take a video and then a still from that, lol…

the butterflies arrive as chrysalis from Costa Rica on a regular basis and are released into the space once they emerge…

so, each time you are in the Garden, there will likely be different varieties…

it is such fun to search for them in amongst the foliage…

Thursday’s adventure after aquasize was a trip to Oh Doughnuts…

it was close to the pool and had a buy one, get one sale…

not that I should have had any, but I chose a coconut cream and Nanaimo bar…

ate the entire coconut cream after a very healthy lunch;-)…

on Friday, I cut the Nanaimo bar doughnut and had half with lunch and the final half with dinner…

also got extra steps in after each meal…

they were both very tasty;-)…

enjoyed the Mediterranean biome… as soon as I enter I am reminded of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights… I think it is all the Tyndall stone, the spiral walkway, and the industrial looking steel…

the living wall is huge and amazing…

and the spiral begonia was so pretty…

the amaryllis are stunning…

it is lovely to have such a beautiful space to visit during the winter months…

excellent report at my recent appointment with my doctor…

both my blood pressure and A1C results were good and after some conversation we agreed that I don’t need to have my A1C tested for six months… and I don’t need to have my blood pressure checked until then either…

so I don’t need to see him again until July, woohoo…

he had mentioned last time that he may have to let go of some of his patients as everyone has come back after not seeing a doctor for two or three years and the load is just too heavy and isn’t slowing down at all…

that made me worry a bit, but while we were talking he advised that he won’t let any of his seniors go… a weight off my shoulders, lol…

great news all around…

celebrated with sushi for lunch;-)…

Tuesday was my third trip to The Leaf…

they are making improvements all the time… it looks like they may soon have machines so you can purchase your ticket without standing in line…

we had a lovely time walking through the biomes… it was quite warm and humid in the tropical biome and there weren’t too many people when we arrived around ten am… by the time we left, just before noon, the place was starting to fill up…

the gardeners were working in the space cleaning up fallen leaves and checking the temperatures around the various areas… had a lovely chat with one of them…

I seemed to focus on orange flowers this time;-)… and I was happy to see the coffee beans even though I don’t drink coffee, lol…

love the banyan tree and got shots of a few others… can’t wait to watch them as they grow… and I found a couple of banana trees…

the waterfall is adding a lot of humidity to the space…

got a nice shot of the other direction from just under the waterfall…

and a view from the catwalk…

looking forward to more visits and to watching the areas change and grow…

last week a staff person from Dynacare came by to do my blood work…

over the last few years I’ve seen four or five of their staff… this time is was a fellow whose been quite a few times…he’s very efficient and I didn’t even feel the needle go in;-)…

I wore the bandaid for a while and when I removed it, there was only a tiny pink spot without any bruising…

although my healthcare plan doesn’t cover the cost it feels worth it to have them come by the house…
