been having trouble keeping one of the medicine cabinet doors closed for the last few weeks…
I thought it was because the magnet on the mirror was separating from the plastic behind it…
the other morning I looked at it and thought it was no longer level…
at which point I discovered that the plastic where the door attached to the cabinet had broken… it took two of us to remove the broken cabinet…
what a treat to discover my beloved’s handwritten measurements inside the hole🤗…
after measuring the space, it was off to Home Depot to see if we could find something that would fit into the hole in the wall… and of course I needed two, sigh…
we found a cabinet that should work, but the store we were at didn’t have any in stock, so it meant another trip… after trying two other stores it was off to Rona, where we found two of the same cabinet at an even better price;-)…
it has been fourteen years since my beloved installed these cabinets when we redid the bathroom, so I guess it did pretty well, being opened more than ten thousand times, lol… that wasn’t a bad run…
and, just like that we have two new cabinets, although the space inside them is smaller, but they will work fine;-)…
last year, on our final camping trip of the season, the strap on the kneeboard broke…
the board came from my son-in-law’s grandparents and he is very attached to it… new boards are designed differently and he doesn’t like them…
so, recently I started searching for someone who might fix the strap…
found strapping and Velcro and spoke with a local upholsterer who agreed to do the sewing for us…
once my son-in-law checked out the strapping we realized it wasn’t quite right… he found some from a ratchet he had at home and we dropped off the Velcro and strapping to be sewn…
now we have a nice new strap… it should get attached to the board in the next few days;-)…
yesterday, while my grandson was here we set the table for Easter dinner…
together we decided on the tablecloth, dishes, platters, bowls, and how we would put the gifts on the plates… I used to buy books for all the special times, but now they are bigger I give them gift cards so they can make their own choice of something to read… also had a chocolate bunny for each of them…
while we were out shopping we picked up an angel food cake, strawberries and whipping cream for dessert… he cut the strawberries up before he left…
when the family arrived this afternoon the boys searched for treats from the Easter bunny… they found tons of mini eggs…
I had Easter treats too… got myself a beautiful heart-shaped amethyst from Poco Inspired, the kids brought me a bag of Ferrero Rocher mini eggs, and apparently there is a bag on my daughter’s mantle in Ottawa waiting for me;-)…
foggy morning… we had breakfast and then went in search of tequila, cigars and chocolate…
walked up the street and found a tequila shop which specializes in mango tequila… also had a few other types… found cigars in a little store close by and then took a Pulmonia downtown… apparently we could all ft in one because the two younger boys could sit on our laps…
checked out the large market and then went in search of chocolate… found some a few blocks away from the market in a department store, lol…
then we went in search of the cliffdivers… took a few wrong turns and walked a bit further than needed but eventually we found the spot…
seems like a dangerous pastime but one of the divers told me being injured is part of the job… yikes…
back to the hotel for a nap and some pool time…
this is the hallway outside our room… you can see a busy part of the city through the open portion of the windows…
here’s our chocolate haul… hope it is tasty;-)…
missed the sun setting by a few minutes tonight but it was still a lovely sky…
