busy day Wednesday… we went to Rona and picked up paint and a few other bits and pieces… then Best Buy for a couple more switches… finally Safeway for the last item for our supper…

once we got home, plastic was put all around the kitchen… the ceiling was scraped and sanded… plastic came down, floors were swept, paint went up and a new light fixture was installed…

it works perfectly with the switch that went in a few days ago, and which has a dimmer in it… it is beautiful and puts out a great deal of light…

the screen door was removed and had a good scrub down before going back into its track…

almost invisible now, lol…

the new switches were installed and we had bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwiches for supper…

woohoo…

on Monday morning we went to the Park Café for breakfast with my BS buddies and then took a stroll around the English and Leo Mol Gardens…

my son-in-law and I walked over and met the rest of the group inside the restaurant… it was wonderful to finally get there, as it had been a long time… breakfast was tasty and my favourite server mentioned how she had missed seeing me😊…

it was the first time I’ve been back in the Gardens for at least a few years and they were full of colour and blooms…

what a lovely way to usher in the week…

started the morning gathering up all my bouquets, combining a few together, and tidying up another…

a bit sad as the glads were done…

then I took out the drill and put the second screw into the motion sensor on the deck… angling it as my son-in-law suggested… and it worked perfectly…

the rocks that were holding it up are now back in amongst the trees…

yesterday most of the day was spent doing computer things…

transferring 300 gig of photos to a separate drive… that takes a while, lol…

purchased a few needed items…

hooked up the cutest little repeater that looks like a little robot, lol… which makes the wifi camera connect so much quicker…

sorted through two boxes and saved a few items and added others to the giveaway box…

my Ottawa son-in-law arrived today to spend a few weeks with me…

he has plans to help get a few jobs done around my house…

we had breakfast out and then he changed the light switch in the kitchen to one that is compatible with my Google Home…

it felt like I pushed every one of the switches in the basement before we found the correct one to be sure the power was off, lol…

got out the tools Kasa recommended and in a few minutes he had it switched out and working…

then he changed the bulb on the ceiling fixture and put the cover back on… it has been off for months as the Philips Hue I was using needed airflow around it…

looks so much better now…

one job done… not saying how many are left on the list😂…

one of today’s projects was to change the water in the hot tub…

started this morning… brought out the sump pump, hooked up a hose and then relaxed for an hour as it emptied out the water…

the next step was to wipe everything down and then use the wet vac to suck up the last of the water and grunge…

after I put away the vac, I spent another bit of time filling up the hot tub…

now I am waiting for the temperature to make it to the 102°C that I keep it at in the summer…

up very early on Tuesday… a friend picked me up and we drove to Miss Millie’s Flower Farm…

what a lovely time we had… other than the very hungry mosquitoes it was delightful, lol…

we got containers and then wandered through the space cutting whichever flowers caught our fancy…

I should have not bothered getting a container, because I kept pulling out my camera to take pictures, lol…

my friend, who has great flower design sense filled her container up so that it looked like an arrangement as we were going along… eventually I got her to tell me what else I needed to finish my bouquet 🤪…

then we laid the stems out on a table and she produced two beautiful arrangements…

what a fun time…

on Monday had a great time in the garden with 3/4 of our BS group…

I had moved the car to the driveway and put chairs into the garage on the chance that rain or a thunderstorm decided to cause an interruption during our gathering… I didn’t rearrange the chairs and put out the cushions until a few minutes before they arrived as the sky was still covered in clouds…

while we visited, we saw a monarch flit about and land on the milkweed flowers… then a baby bunny stopped by…

the sparrows came by for drinks and baths…

and the fish were swimming all around the pond, including at least one of the babies…

the babies move amazingly quickly, and I spent quite a while trying to catch a photo of one of them…

in the end, the sun came out and it got kind of hot, lol… then, about 7:30 pm we had a huge thunderstorm…

strange weather day…
