rain stopped around 6 this morning… it was still chilly, but dry, yay…

after breakfast we went out in the boat and spent the day on the water…

we saw a pelican, two deer and maybe a merganser… we fished and my son-in-law caught a couple and I caught one;-)…

it was calm when we took the boat out of the water, nothing like when we crossed the lake – both times – it was very rough…

we baked potatoes around the fire, had steak and mushrooms to go with them, and then for dessert I had a delicious s’more… others may have had more than one, lol… the current method of making them involves using cookies covered in chocolate and then putting a roasted marshmallow between them… much simpler that graham crackers and a piece of chocolate bar…

during the night it rained a few times but there was sun and blue sky this morning… along with a fair bit of wind…

the weather report called for rain later, but when we walked to the beach the water was pretty rough…

once everyone was up and had a simple breakfast we headed out for a day of shore fishing… and checking out resort stores…

although it rained off and on all day we had lots of fun…

particularly as I caught a small Jack and then the daddy caught a much bigger one… I focussed on improving my casting…

we found every boat launch on the highway in two directions and checked out a few spots we’d never been to before…

once we got back to the trailer, we napped and watched videos as the rain started to come down in a much more serious manner, lol…

had burgers for supper and then played board games…

now it is time for bed, with the hope that the rain will stop by morning…

so far we’ve seen a fawn, frogs, geese and a pileated woodpecker… and we’ve only been here since noon;-)…

we’ve hiked around the campground and taken a few photos from the bridge that is usually in my pictures…

we’ve fished, or more precisely, practised casting, lol…

and are currently sitting around a campfire waiting for it to die down so we can cook hotdogs for our supper…

why is it that hotdogs taste so delicious when cooked over a fire…

pretty fine day considering we were led to believe it was going to rain all day…

spent some time out in the garden watching for the baby fish which I spotted a few days ago… I saw at least two sizes, so am eager to see how many there are…

they move really quickly, so the chances of getting any shots of them is slim

but I did get a few pictures of the rest of the fish sunning themselves…

I’ve also been taking photos daily of the water lily bud as it slowly grows toward the surface of the pond…

really hoping I get to see it bloom…

rather thrilled when I realized that my container filled with extra soil was growing morning glories;-)…

this pot was under the deck and wasn’t getting any water, so they have really toughed it out…

I pulled it out and gave it some water… might even move it up onto the deck so it gets more sunlight…

not sure if they will end up blooming, but I am hopeful

just a couple of days ago I had a memory on Facebook showing one of my previous year’s blooms…

Monday I considered turning on the bedroom light when I first got up…

there is less light every day, sigh… this is always one of the sadder happenings mid August…

at night I am now turning on the lights that run along the bannister on the stairs… those lights haven’t been on for months…

time is flying by more and more quickly…

although later in the evening I did enjoy spending a few minutes at the window as I was going downstairs to watch the solar lights start twinkling on… arrived at just the right moment;-)…

have to celebrate the little things…

over it…

something happened recently that instantly brought back a very bad time in my life…

we always think we are over it, but the simplest thing can take us back in time in a flash and we relive the memories…

it is going to take some time to recover from the feelings that have resurfaced…

one step at a time on the journey…

was thinking of people I’ve known who always seemed to have a dark cloud hanging over them…

feels like that is happening to a few of those in my circles.. lots of struggles and loss…

missing my beloved… this photo reminds me of a place where we would always find peace and serenity together…

working on how best to be present for those struggling…

spent a lot of time with the water lilies in the Gardens… went from one to another, viewing and taking pictures… many of them had tiny frogs sitting on the lily pads…

water has always been important to me and it always draws me in…

wasn’t sure that the two lilies in my pond were going to have flowers, but I remained hopeful

and this morning I spotted a bud;-)… woo hoo… excited to see the flower…

so excited because I found a new way to download my iPhone photos in a quick and simple way…

picked up this iXpand Flash Drive SanDisk which holds 64 gb…

while I was sitting in the parking lot of the store, I downloaded the app and saved 1800 photos to the drive… all in about five minutes…

previous methods I’ve used have taken way longer to copy pictures…

easy to find the pictures by date and then copy them back to the iPhone if needed…

oh, I think I’m going to have lots of fun
