woke up at 6 to pouring rain… by 8 it was done and the sun came out, although it was windy… we spent the day on the water

early morning water drops on the boat…

throughout the day we spotted many geese, a pileated woodpecker, two deer and a fawn, an eagle, maybe an American Three-Toed woodpecker, and one very large Jack fish which my son-in-law caught…

bacon, eggs and hash browns for breakfast and steak, baked potatoes and onions, with mushrooms for dinner… pretty fine eats;-)…

cool temperature-wise but a great day;-)…

the flowers were at the dock… the moss covered tree is at the campsite…

started my day in the hot tub… rather quiet as the waterfall is turned off while awaiting repair, lol…

walked to the grocery store; consulted with Hilda the Gardener, who then did some amazing clean-up in the side garden and tidied the main garden; and packed up all my stuff for another few days of camping

ended the day watching boys jump into the lake from a rather tall rock, which we climbed, and now we sit by the campfire…

did manage to get one flower picture as well;-)…

been a full day… think it might be an early night…

lately I’ve been spending quite a bit of time thinking of my beloved

the other day I was reminded of how strong his hands were… he could open a jar or wring out a cloth without the least bit of effort, lol…

he loved the garden and spent hours puttering in it… he was always working on the grass as well, to ensure there were no weeds in it… I have completely failed at that…

another one of his favourite things was the pond… he loved to maintain it and look after the fish…

my son-in-law and grandson love it as well, and happily have been helping maintain it…

today, I tried to clean the pump as it was clogged… I couldn’t lift it out of the pond, so I put one of my chair cushions on the deck and laid on it while pulling out the gunk… turned the power back on and there was a fair bit of water coming from the top of the pump… turned it off and pushed the pieces together after a conversation with my son-in-law… turned it back on again and all of a sudden the hose popped off and there was water spraying everywhere, lol…

eventually got it unplugged and am going to leave it alone until he stops by tomorrow… my beloved would have had it fixed in no time…

the droplets were refreshing, lol…

had a great few minutes this morning in the garden… checked out the flowers and watched for birds… lots of flowers, no birds…

as I waited for my ride, at least three squirrels fought over the feeder in the front yard…

I cannot explain how much I love spending time enjoying nature

I miss being able to share this love with my beloved

for the last few days I’ve been very careful walking on the lower deck…

one of the boards kept flipping up when I stepped down onto it…

nearly tripped a few of my friends yesterday;-(…

tonight my grandson found some screws in the garage and went to drill them in…

apparently, the battery pack needs to be charged, lol… neither the battery on the drill, or the spare, had any juice

I’ve now got one battery charging and will put the second one on the charger tomorrow…

luckily, he was able to finish screwing it down with my little kitchen screwdriver…

safe to walk out there again;-)…

been thinking of illness and recovery lately…

unfortunately many of those I know are dealing with difficult life situations…

today I was reminded that nine years ago I began a 42 day stint in the hospital with pancreatitis

waking up in the middle of a procedure and remembering how a nurse had said that if that happened they would put me under again quickly and I would be okay… and I was, but it sure was scary…

it really was the worst I have ever felt… medications caused numerous problems and confirmed my own knowledge that drugs do not play well in my body…

trying to convince medical staff of side effects which they had never heard of and hoping that down the road when someone else mentions a similar reaction they will remember my comments and maybe believe that the drug might have different effects on different people…

the difficulty in having the staff not give drugs that made me hallucinate and yank tubes out of my body…

and the amazing nursing staff who believed me and took such great care of me…

I remember how my beloved brought me pictures every day of the morning glories as they opened in the garden…

life can change in an instant… hug your loved ones and tell people you care…

productive day on Sunday…

topped up the hot tub, did laundry, prepped a few meals for the coming week, spent some time relaxing in the garden…

finished a book, watered plants, cleaned the fish tank, and consulted with Hilda the Gardener…

she very kindly sent me some before pictures…

had lunch out with my grandson, grocery shopped and got home to see the beautifully tidied front flower beds…

put away the groceries while the lawn was being mowed… went out and took a few photos of the tidied front beds…

fit in a nap, warmed up some leftovers for supper and watched a few PVR’d shows…

phew…

yesterday turned out to be quite a fun day…

instead of laying on my bed and watching tv all day I went out with a few friends…

on our way to St. Norbert Farmers’ Market we stopped at La Belle Baguette for some bread…

I haven’t been to the Market for years… it has certainly grown and improved… there are more makers and the main covered building is wonderful… while we were there it poured for about five minutes, and we were under the canopy the whole time…

after an entertaining time there, we went out for lunch… the sky was a bit foreboding and all of a sudden it poured… for another five minutes… by the time we got to the restaurant it had stopped;-)…

great fun… finished the last bits of that lunch for tonight’s supper…

last night my grandson came over for dinner…

I cooked a roast, as well as a combination of potatoes, onions and mushrooms on Barbie, the barbecue;-)…

came out perfect and delicious…

after supper we sat in the garden and my grandson decided he should catch the goldfish that we had popped into the top of the pond hoping they would grow a bit before joining the other fish as they were very small… they have grown quite nicely so we thought they could move to the other section of the pond…

those little fish move very quickly we discovered… he was able to catch and move two… rest of them are going to stay there until they get bigger, and possibly easier to catch…
