had some fun in the garden on Saturday… the forecast was for thunderstorms and rain during the day so I got out early to plant the purchases from the day before…

trying to stick to the purple and white theme although the dahlia might be a bit on the pink side;-)…

three pots planted, a few baskets hung, the tomato and mandevilla placed… also brought out the hibiscus…

still need to bring out the Japanese Maple, but going to wait just a bit longer so it doesn’t struggle with the move…

it is looking pretty good… now just waiting to get that back flowerbed cleaned up…

missing my beloved as I work away in the yard…

I watch tv a lot and I PVR tons of shows…

over the last week I’ve noticed that the tv is saying it is recording shows, but the next day they are not there… seemed very odd…

finally took the time on Thursday night to poke around and see if I could figure it out…

what I discovered was a place telling me that the PVR was nearly full… a big red bar all the way across the screen, lol…

there was no place to clean it out and all the programs get deleted as soon as I watch them, so it was odd

Friday morning I called BellMTS for help… after running all through the house to find the main PVR, in the basement of course, I had to turn it off and back on… when it rebooted it was fine…

the technician advised that it shouldn’t have happened and it would be fine in the future… but as I look at it now it says there is something PVRed, but there isn’t, sigh…

at least I know what to do when it happens again;-)…

I did giggle after he told me to unplug it…

turning equipment off is one of the first suggestions I make to my colleagues whenever they are having technical issues…

got up early and went for a walk to the Park… temperature was going to 34° and will feel like 39° Celsius…

so an early walk seemed like a good plan, lol..

by the time I got home just before 10, it was already hot…

as I was walking down the next street, two bunnies froze in place as I was coming down the sidewalk… the yard they were in was filled with dandelions which they love…

they really think if they freeze the person walking along won’t see them, lol…

as soon as I passed them, they both hopped away…

this picture reminds me of the rush you get when you meet one of the influential people who have or will change your life in some way…

Dale Chihuly has been one such influence for me… I was introduced to his art a number of years ago and been a fan since that time… wanting to see his art has encouraged me to step out of my box and visit places I couldn’t have imagined and experience things in a new way…

I can still feel the thrill of hearing his voice in the building and realizing that he was there in person and it wasn’t a video or recording…

it was such a pleasure to meet and talk with him at Chihuly Garden and Glass in Seattle…

last night I walked home after having my hair cut, and purposely took a path that would take me by a number of lilac bushes…

I was able to stop at each one and take photos and enjoy the beautiful scent

tonight when I drove the same path, with all the windows open, the perfume was so delicious… the wind must have been blowing in just the right direction… what a treat…

unfortunately I wasn’t able to bring any home… but I have pictures;-)…

fun in the garden…

finally got around to planting the lobelia and alyssum… the weather may have turned the corner, although it was something like 4 degrees when I got up…

decided to plant in clumps, so all lobelia in some planters and just alyssum in others…

looking forward to watching them grow and seeing how they look…

out and about in the sunshine for a good portion of the day yesterday…

ran a few errands, grocery shopped, got the lawn mowed… and had a wonderful steak dinner…

trying a different method of running the water in the pond… currently I need to top it up every few days so I’ve only been turning it on when I am home and in the garden… hoping that this new system will show us if the water is evaporating or leaking through the hose

things are really growing in the garden…

and I don’t just mean the dandelions and grass, sigh…

the ferns are growing by leaps and bounds…

the lily of the valley are starting to bloom… they smell lovely, but they don’t like to stay in one spot… if I was starting a garden I would only put them in a place where they are surrounded by concrete…

and the clematis is happily climbing up the trellis…

lots of activity next door…

a few days ago a number of lower branches from the evergreen had been removed and left in the front yard…

last night when I arrived home they were starting to remove some siding… it was noisy and dusty, but so hot out that I had to leave the window open…

today when I drove into the driveway I had to maneuver past two wheelbarrows to get into the garage…

they have been removing siding all afternoon… happy I am not on holiday, lol…
