today’s meals seemed an interesting mix

my breakfast smoothie was a bit different than usual… included banana and strawberries which was a treat as I don’t usually include fruit…

lunch was at Ivory and they had some of my favourites at the buffet… palak paneer, vegetable pakora, and lamb… lovely…

supper felt a bit like a snack… had gazpacho and some delicious meatballs that I dipped in a homemade sauce…

not sure if I stayed under my calorie count for the day, lol…

vanity…

a few days ago as I was driving home from work, I came across three different cars with vanity plates…

made me think of my beloved… whenever we would spot a vanity plate he would usually be the one to figure out what it said…

of course I couldn’t take photos of the plates, but this morning as I was walking down the street by the office I came across this plate;-)…

I figured this one out, lol…

pass-me-over…

this morning I remembered to put out the three boxes of pass-me-overs onto the front steps before I left for work…

different places call and check to see if I have anything and then I have to remember how to mark the boxes because each place has particular initials they want on them, lol…

the time changed last night as we sprang forward…

for the longest time today I wasn’t exactly sure what time it really was because so many of my devices change themselves…

the tv, the phone, my Fitbit…

finally confirmed the time when putting something into the microwave which isn’t automated…

I like springing forward because it is much easier to change the devices that still need it by moving them forward an hour… going backwards always seems much more difficult, lol…

microwave, stove, car and grandfather clock all updated…

flowers are my attempt at springing;-)…

laughed…

great day…

slept in and watched some tv…

picked up by a friend and we went out for lunch at Pho Hoang… shared some tofu spring rolls and I had seafood chow mein…

great catch-up and delicious lunch… we giggled because we both tried something other than our usual menu choices…

from there we headed to PTE and saw Mom’s the Word: Nest 1/2 Empty

it was sooooo funny… we laughed all the way through it… brought home 2 delicious homemade gingerbread bars after I ate a tasty fancy almond covered cookie that had homemade jam in it… cannot remember the exact name of either of them, lol…

walked from Portage without any gloves… didn’t realize that they weren’t in my pocket… good thing it was quite warm, lol… and then found them on the sofa;-)…

over the last few days I’ve had the opportunity to spend a bit of time with some of the wonderful women who’ve been part of my life, but I haven’t seen much of recently…

had a great time on Wednesday evening with a very special woman in my life…

and was happy to find a young friend who has been connected to our family for many, many years… she spotted me at an event and came over for a few minutes to visit… how lovely to catch up on her life and family… one of many young women who has called me mom for years…

yesterday, at another event, spent a few minutes with a dear woman… it was just great to be in the same place and see her, even if we didn’t have much time together… I still melt when I recall her introducing me to someone as the mother of her heart...

later, another young friend stopped by the house for a few minutes… can’t even think of when we last spent time together…

reminders of how blessed I am and of the amazing women who are part of my circles, even when I don’t connect with them often…

great memories on this International Women’s Day

feels as though this bouquet symbolizes the variety of women in my life… all beautiful, all different, and all making me happy

spent some time with my finance guy recently… the funny thing is that his name is George, lol… first time I told someone I was talking to George about money, they gave me a very odd look…

as I get older it feels like dealing with RRSPs, Tax-Free Saving Accounts, and various pensions gets more complicated…

there are always papers to sign, numbers to calculate and things to consider…

as time has gone on I think that I understand the ins and outs of the funds, but you never know…
