this afternoon I made some tiny meatballs…

felt like I was channeling my dad… he made the best meatballs ever… and the tiniest, lol…

haven’t made meatballs since forever… of course now that I’m not supposed to eat pasta I haven’t bothered even with meat sauce…

remembered the times we made spaghetti from scratch with my parents, Aunty Minnie and her mom, Mrs. Jenetta… tasted amazing and we had such fun…

to make the meatballs tiny, I used a melon baller that the wonderful Jacqui Eade had me purchase for a great dinner party that she cooked for my friends and I…

great to remember these special moments…

maybe I’ll make spaghetti for supper tomorrow…

this morning I got up to a beautiful looking sky

drove over to the Formal Gardens at the Park… the drive was lovely as the trees are just amazing… as I was going down the street beside the park had to stop and get a shot of some geese having a snack…

took a picture of Shadow in front of a section of the Gardens… looking pretty fine;-)…

as I circled the area a few groupings of trees caught my eye…

gorgeous colours

the canopy of trees really draws my eyes, every time I walk the circle…

moss…

although I come to collect poke balls I find I can walk faster and possibly longer than when I go to the English and Leo Mol Gardens… of course, when I go there, I walk from and to home…

filled with shades of orange and green and very bright when the sun shone…

leaves are falling fast…

and I collected lots of poke balls and hatched a few eggs…

last night I was sitting in the hot tub remembering when my beloved and I would sit out and watch the stars…

for a few years we would rent a hot tub on our anniversary… I was always the one who did this as I liked hot tubs way more than George did, lol… one of my all time favourite pictures is of my oldest grandson in one of the rented tubs… adorable, isn’t it…

brought to mind the fact that we’ve had it for just over seven years… when I was dismissed from my previous employment I received a settlement and used some of that money to buy it…

I think we bought it in March but didn’t get it home and going until Mother’s Day that Spring, partly because we had to fill in a pond and build a deck for it to sit on…

first time in our hot tub…

I have loved every minute… and often think about what it took to get it…

George grew to enjoy it over time and the kids have all had great fun in it, on their own, or with friends…

it has certainly been a wonderful addition to our garden…

this morning I took gerbers to the office to celebrate my seven year anniversary…

I’d picked them up last night and stood them up in a reusable grocery bag… even put the seat belt on to keep them from falling over…

I had spent some time last week making cards with some of my photographs and writing a note for every person…

had a few issues with the technology of getting the note and the picture in the right place, lol… but eventually they were all prepared…

it is always a treat to do something that makes others happy… one colleague commented how she loved when I had special events happening in my life because the rest of the team always get to celebrate as well… another suggested I was confused, as on your special day you are supposed to get the treats, not give them, lol… she’s new to the office;-)…

had a bit of a laugh when I realized that I hadn’t taken a picture of the flowers and vases in the kitchen before everyone started to come and choose theirs… usually I am on top of getting pictures, but the early birds were so excited that I got distracted… don’t have a single picture of the set up or even of any of the flowers in everyone’s space…

then just after lunch I found this at my desk…

in it was this beautiful rose and a lovely note from my colleague, who also happens to be my supervisor…

what a lovely treat

it is wonderful to be appreciated… whether it is your special event, or someone else’s…

the light is fading every day… sure sign that it is Fall, sigh…

last night I turned on the radiant heater in the bathroom… was a lovely treat this morning to walk on warm tiles…

most of the floor is warm, except right in front of the sink, lol… where a person stands to wash and brush their teeth…

got this great shot of Emptyful and the church spire… don’t often look at it from this viewpoint… the warm weather made quite a bit of fog/mist around it…

so excited this morning to take a few pictures of the gardenia blossoms…

there are eight or nine buds and I can hardly wait for them to open

autumn is coming on strong… as I was driving home tonight I stopped on a side street and got a picture of the trees

the colours are changing daily, maybe even hourly

and even in the cooler weather there are plants blooming like crazy…

this planter is filled with neverending begonia blooms, and some lobelia…

took a few minutes to savour the beauty of the freshly purpled door… it is beautiful…

today marks four years since my return to work following my cancer/hernia surgery… I had been off for ten weeks…

I am so blessed… in so many ways…

on a walk the other day I came across this little angel propped up against a tree in a place where few people would see her…

made me think of the angels among us… whether people who have gone before, or those in our midst who do those special things for us… and maybe we don’t even know they’ve done something…

another fall day… overcast with rain off and on…

drove to the Formal Gardens at the Park and walked two loops… it was drizzling about half the time I was walking…

needed poke balls and this is a great place to find PokeStops and get in the walking, all at the same time…

the actual garden always looks lovely and you can see how the wind was blowing…

the trees are starting to change colour and it was hard to decide which picture to put up…

last time I walked in this spot a friend shared that her family had a memorial bench for her husband there, as they would walk this circle and he often needed to stop and take a break…

the bench says stop and rest awhile so I sat down for a few minutes and listened to the geese flying overhead… a special moment… reminded me of George and my special bench in the Leo Mol Garden and the memories that fill my heart when I sit there, even now…

still haven’t seen the trees turning red in the East so I’m always looking for bright colours here, lol…

when I got home after running a few errands I had the marvellous gift of spending an hour with this lovely baby and her momand my Ottawa daughter via FaceTime… we had a wonderful visit and lots of baby snuggles

snuggled up on the bed, watched tv and read while my dinner was cooking…

very fall-looking day…

spent it indoors and the morning melted away as I worked on a little project…

wasn’t expecting it to take near as much time but working with a variety of technology is sometimes challenging, lol… although I always enjoy every minute when I am making something…

kept at it until it was done before I would let myself have lunch…

each meal today was a bit unusual… for breakfast I made zucchini pancakes to go with a poached egg… very tasty…

at lunch I had a whole wheat pita with lettuce and pâté and radishes alongside…

finally my dinner consisted of smoked goldeye with a stir fry of cauliflower, onion, eggplant and mushrooms…

although when I look at the pictures, there wasn’t much variety in colour except for the radishes… looking rather bland, lol…

took this picture of the house yesterday… looks pretty good, eh… thinking of the variety of looks it has had since September 1973

Fridays are becoming quite the busy days, lol…

this morning I walked in Bruce Park so I could collect poke balls and then went out for an appointment with my daughter…

inside the entrance of Bruce Park…

leaves are on the ground everywhere…

then it was downtown for lunch at La Roca after we did a little shopping and Pokemon Go-ing…

delicious fish burrito…

great opportunity to take some pictures at the Millennium Library Park

planters right behind our building…

one of the ponds…

after lunch we picked up my grandson and some teammates and were off to a volleyball tournament…

geese flying over the school…

great shot by my grandson…

home by six and then I had a nap;-)…
