quite the day weather-wise… started out warm and sunny, snowed for a long time and then the sun came back out…

when I left for the doctor’s office it took me about ten minutes to clear the snow off the car… by the time I got into the car after my appointment much of the remaining snow had melted off the car…

  

here’s what it looked like out the window when I got home…

  

had a great appointment… blood tests showed my A1C test came back at 6.2 which was good news… she was pleased with my food diary and blood sugar records… and, my blood pressure was perfect in her words…

I don’t have to go back for three months and can start to eat a bit more protein at meals… I do need to eat more fish and maybe get a bit more exercise as my good cholesterol is low, although the LDL number is much better than the last test…

wanted to celebrate and considered ordering something for supper… then decided I would make the supper I had planned in the morning…

rather proud of myself, lol… but I did have a few chips and a little glass of Baileys…

lots to celebrate this week…

had a Health and Wellness contest at work where we had to get a blackout bingo…

it was filled with exercise and eating some healthy food items as well…

only three items could be marked off each day…

I was doing very well until I got sick, which put me behind as I wasn’t able to get all of the exercise in…

last Friday after yoga I was able to fill in the last square on my card…

this morning at our staff meeting I received one of the prizes for getting bingo…

   

 healthy snack bars and dark chocolate… yum… 

will have to eat the chocolate in very small portions…

did well with eating today…

had yogurt and fruit for breakfast, and a large salad with eggs and chickpeas for lunch…

this afternoon we had cupcakes…

  

I had some almonds with mine as I have to eat some protein with every snack… it was very tasty but unfortunately my body felt a bit overloaded with sugar…

for the next few hours my head ached… just not used to so much sugar any more…

amazing how a person’s body can change in just a few short months…

excellent day…

met my grandson for lunch and had a good visit… we ran an errand before he headed back to the bus and home…

the sky was amazing as we left the office at the end of the night… sun through the clouds was lovely…

as I was driving home the sun was setting and it was beautiful…

got this shot while I was on the phone with my daughter…

  

the yellows and oranges were quite stunning…

always amazes me how in just a few seconds the sky can change from beautiful shades to black…

been busy since I got up today…

started out with a lovely hot tub and watched geese fly right over me…

  

added pictures to the new frame and finally got it set up in the living room… still thinking I might want the 14″ one instead of this 10″ one so I haven’t hung it on the wall just yet…

then it was a cab downtown to meet my daughter and spend two hours at the Home and Garden show… might just have found someone to help me in the garden… also spoke with my pond guy and we have a plan to get it all finished as soon as they can work outside…

  

then we headed to Silver City to meet up with the little guys to see Home… ate half a bag of popcorn… can’t help myself where popcorn is involved…

stopped at Safeway to pick up a few ingredients for our supper and headed home to get it made as my son-in-law had to get to work…

cleaned up from supper and got the ingredients ready for tomorrow evening’s gathering… need to be ready as I will be working late…

luckily I am going in a bit later and have made a lunch date with my grandson who is on spring break…

might sleep in a bit in the morning because I am just a little tired, lol…

finally the hot tub is back up to 103… early Friday morning I wasn’t sleeping so decided to go out for a hot tub, only to discover that the heater wasn’t running… came back in and laid in bed thinking of all the things that could be wrong with it…

once it was light, I went out and unplugged and plugged it into the outlet…  was so happy when it started and it has been heating up ever since… it had gone down to 63 Celsius… really glad I didn’t just jump into it…

hoping to go out a bit later tonight, although rain has been coming down for the last while…

did a few chores around the house and spent some time on the computer printing out my food diary and blood sugar readings for the doctor’s appointment this week… also moved 1400 pictures from my phone to the computer…

had a wonderful surprise when I was watering plants…

was fasting for blood work this morning so I had a bit of extra time as I wasn’t rushing to get breakfast eaten……

got some shots of the fish tank which is finally clearing up after about two weeks of serious merkiness…

  

and was very excited to see the leaves starting up on the Japanese Maple…

  

as we were heading downtown the sky was spectacular…

  

beautiful start to a Friday…

and the day ended as I walked home along the street and got a few pictures of the creek slightly frozen over…

looking forward to some warmer weather over the weekend…

was pleased to get the blood work done today as I see the doctor next week and we will be able to review my A1C numbers… anticipating that they will be much better than the last time they were taken…

had a wonderful time with a dear young friend… supper out and I did very well I think…

I headed to the restaurant early and sat, by myself, for half an hour… felt very calm and relaxed during that time… had a cup of tea and read emails and checked out Facebook… for my entire adult life I have only ever eaten out twice on my own or spent any amount of time alone in a restaurant… actually I would have rather gone hungry than sit in a restaurant by myself… so, this felt like a very positive thing…

checked out the menu and chose my dinner based on the least calories of the items I liked…

had baked chicken wings…

  

and the most delicious spinach salad…

  

after a great visit I drove home in the daylight...

then, to top off my big girl pants activities for the day, I fixed the time on the clock in the car…

  

had been waiting for my son-in-law to come over to fix it but decided I would give it a try… obviously it was pretty easy…

those big girl pants fit rather well today…

crazy variety of weather today… 

first thing this morning I looked out the window to see this…

  

could barely see in front of our noses… wet snow falling and strong winds…

around noon the snow stopped but the wind continued…

on our way home the sun was out and the snow was melting…

  

it was beautiful so I decided to walk part way home, although the wind did push me around… was a bit worried about the sidewalks and whether they still had ice on them… mainly dry with just a few wet patches… great walk…

this is what I saw when I got home and looked out that same window…

  

wonder what it is going to look like tomorrow, lol…

left the office at one today, for an appointment…

was going to a place I hadn’t been before so I was a bit worried about time…

fairly early in the drive I heard sirens and eventually spotted the fire truck behind me… vehicles were moving over and trying to get out of the way and once it had gone past, everyone tried to get back into the lane they had been in… that doesn’t always happen which can be really frustrating… some people just don’t want to let others back in, sigh…
close to where I needed to turn off the main drag, another fire truck shows up in the rear view mirror… had to pull over two lanes to get out of the way and then it goes by and turns to the right… practically in front and on top of me…
thanks to an app on my phone, I found my way to just where I needed to be, right on time, even with fire truck interference…
do love technology when it works, lol…
little more technology and here’s the result…
