today the towels from Turkey arrived…
they are what is used in the Hammam… my daughter had purchased some when she was in Turkey and discovered how absorbent they are… made me think how great they would be for taking to aquasize…
currently my towel takes up most of my bag, and this one will take up about a quarter of the space…
can hardly wait to go to the pool and see how they work…

sat eating my breakfast looking at Love which my beloved made with his scroll saw… he was very talented…
been going through a bit of poor me… missing George and feeling a bit down with all the health stuff…
on our way home tonight we saw some spectacular sun dogs…
was hard to get great shots as the traffic was whizzing past…
so tired I wasn’t sure I would make it through aquasize class, but I did… then I made some soup with squash and chicken and onions… very nice…
now to bed…

been a long day… hard to get out of bed as I felt very tired…
on top of that it snowed today… thankfully it melted as it hit the ground…
usually we get our first snow on Halloween…
dark and overcast all day… bit of a downer…
really thought about putting the meat in the crockpot, although I wasn’t sure how long it would take so I decided not to…
when I got home I got the pot with my dinner in it all organized, but didn’t turn it on… still not sure of the new stove so I didn’t want to be worrying about whether the liquid might be evaporating and burning up…
after aquasize I put it on and then watched some tv while it was cooking…
should really have simmered a bit longer, but after an hour or so I had some and it was good…

I started to make chicken soup on Saturday from the carcass of the chicken we had for Thanksgiving…
so far the broth is made and the chicken is shredded and in it…
the plan was to finish adding potatoes and vegetables and package it up…
but I forgot that I was going to aquasize tonight…
way too tired after that to do any soup cooking…
going to bed…

started the day very early and the moon was bright…
tonight as I was heading to aquasize I took this shot of the sky… very nice…
was very careful not to do any twisting there after last week… from Friday to Sunday my back was in bad shape… if I sat for any length of time I could barely walk… laying down helped a bit but then when I got up it would still bother me… luckily I was able to take it easy and by Sunday evening it was much better…
so I was extra careful tonight to not twist…
hope it works out okay… guess I will see tomorrow…

woke up this morning and got dressed with the appropriate clothes for yoga…
downstairs I looked at all the items for the soup and realized it was Thursday, not Friday… a bit disappointing…
soup was great… everyone enjoyed it and there is a bit left to have after yoga tomorrow…
after work had a twenty minute nap and got ready for aquasize…
was completely exhausted when we finished… not good to leave such a long period between classes…

lovely treats today…
over the noon hour went to the Farmers’ Market located downtown with a colleague and enjoyed our time together… and all the great produce we found…
I picked up baby potatoes, dill, yellow and green beans, baby cucumbers, some fun breads, bison meat and peas… I was so happy about the peas because I was thinking they might already be finished… I love peas…
last thing was a bouquet of yellow lilies which I picked up for my daughter…
on my way home stopped in at my daughter’s new office with the flowers and some peas for her family…
was picked up by my friend and we went to aquasize which was another treat…
went out for supper and another friend who I haven’t seen for ages met us there…
tasted a tofu dish that was delicious, lol… who knew…
as we were getting into the car spotted a cute little bunny… then home for tea and a visit…
huge and delicate looking moth in the concrete jungle…
treats all day long… my life is filled with blessings…

seemed like a busy weekend, so when I got home from work I had a little nap…
then I had supper and watched a bit of tv… tried to set up a new Skype address but technology wasn’t working with me… been a bit of that lately…
although I must say that I am really understanding our database at work… a colleague and I were discussing some new information we had received, and we both knew exactly what it was all about… great to realize that we have learned a lot about the system in the last year or so…
had a great visit by phone with one of my BS buddies… we used to go to aquasize together but she moved away and we’ve only gone a few times when she’s home… we just made two dates to go in the next month or so, which will be great fun… she will be back here on a more regular basis and we are looking to swim more regularly… looking forward to that…

tonight I went to aquasize for the first time in ages…
was a bit worried whether I would make it through the class without becoming exhausted, but made it through no problem…
reminded me of yoga… just last week I was realizing how much better I have become… we did a pose that a year ago I was only able to hold for a few seconds and I can now do it as long as everyone else… sometimes you don’t realize how you are improving…
was great to spend some time with my friend as well… we are hoping to get back to a regular schedule when she is in the city…
happily we got to go out for pho after swimming… I was very happy about this as I hadn’t organized anything for my supper…
one of the great things about their pho is there are always leftovers for the next day…
hope I still feel great tomorrow, lol…

it was a good day… first thing I gathered up the garbage and put it by the back door, emptied and refilled the dishwasher… work was mainly quiet, but I accomplished what I wanted… after work I took out garbage and recycling, after shoveling so I could get to the back lane… I do love the look of snow, but it isn’t always great to have to deal with it…
then I went to Aquasize… been going for over two years with my friend Pat… we usually go on Tuesday nights but that didn’t work this week, so we decided on Thursday, with dinner out afterwards…
there were only 3 of us in the class – a drop-in that usually has from 12 to 20 people in it… weather wasn’t so great – lots of that beautiful, fluffy snow, so I guess people just didn’t want to go out…
as I was doing all the requested actions, it came to me that I am healthy and today I was able to do everything asked of me, and didn’t need to take any breaks during the class… sometimes I just paddle around because it is too much for me to participate…
I thought about all the months before my surgery that I couldn’t do much because my abdomen was so extended from the hernia it made some of the movements impossible and there was always the worry that I might twist or strain and cause a more serious problem…
then, for eight weeks following my surgery, I couldn’t go into the water and had to be sure not to lift anything over 5 pounds and not do any twisting… I was very happy when I got the approval to get back into the water and was able to lift things again…
it was September 15 that I finally made it back into the water at the lake with Pat (she took this pic)… we like to do water-type things together…

I can remember how excited I was… even though it was quite chilly, I was going into that water… it was wonderful and I enjoyed every minute of it…
most nights I go out to the hot tub in the garden for a while… it is so peaceful in the dark and a very contemplative time… as long as it isn’t snowing or raining or blowing big time, I don’t really care what the temperature is…
I love my hot tub and I will sit there thinking about the day, the kids, George and mostly, how lucky I am and what a blessed life I have…
I am healthy and am going out for a tub now…
