on Wednesday I went out for my hot tub much earlier than usual… rain was predicted for later in the evening and overnight…
I don’t like being in the rain so I was pleased to get out and back in before it started…
I still wore a peaked hat over my toque, lol…

I have a small collection of heart-shaped objects and the other day I bought a new bowl to add to the collection…
I have really enjoyed using it;-)…
it is slightly larger but goes perfectly with the other three heart-shaped bowls I already have…
for the month of February I’ve been trying to use them as much as possible❤️…

had a fun time yesterday with my buddy…
we went clothes shopping and I got a beautiful lightweight purple sweater with pearls and silver dots on it… and it was on sale…
after that we stopped and picked up a few groceries before going to the Good Earth for the lunch buffet…
I got to visit with the koi for a few moments…
I even walked up from the end of the street, lol…
then there was a nap;-)…

yesterday I picked up tulips when I was at the grocery store… I was very happy about that…
when I got home they went into a single large vase, but this morning I took the time to separate them into four containers…
one is on the stairs to go up to the bedroom…
one has gone onto the kitchen counter…
one is in the bathroom…
and one is next to where I sit to watch TV in the Den…
what a lovely treat… flowers are what help me get through the doldrums of February;-)…

for the last week one of my knees has been a bit sore, so I have been taking it pretty easy…
today I was able to get in for a haircut and I got dropped off so that I could get there right away…
happy to have a tidy and lighter head, lol…
I decided to walk home as I could call and get a ride if I needed it should my knee misbehave, although it hasn’t given me any twinges for the last day or so…
I walked on the dry sidewalk along Portage, but when I turned onto the side streets I used the middle of the road as the sidewalks were covered in ice…
happily I made it home without any pain…

I’ve been waiting patiently for this phalaenopsis orchid to open…
here it was on Friday…
Saturday…
and today…
it is beautiful and different from the other one that has been open for awhile…
in my mind I was thinking they might turn out to be the same, lol… but not;-)…
whenever I look at my orchids I always think of my beloved, who brought them to me all the time…

I literally couldn’t put it down, lol…
it was delightful and I enjoyed every page…
now to get the next book in the trilogy;-)…

first thing I did on Thursday was put the heart wreath on the front door…
a little later, I brought down the rest of the love items and set them around the house…
that was fun;-)…
February is Heart and Stroke month and a time when I make a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in memory of my beloved and those who have been touched by heart disease…

recently I saw something on social media about popcorn…
it recommended soaking the kernels in water for a while before draining and popping them and there would be less unpopped kernels…
so I gave it a try and it worked great… it did take longer to get popped but there were less leftover kernels and the popped corn seemed larger…
a couple of days ago I used this method again… while the last bit of it was popping I ran downstairs to bring up the laundry…
when I got upstairs, it smelled odd and as I opened the microwave the Kleenex that covers the spout on the glass measuring cup was smouldering… tossed it into the sink…
I’ve used folded Kleenex for at least six or seven years…
so, don’t think I will use that system again, lol… took some time for the smell to leave both the microwave and the house…

as I was walking on the spot looking out the living room window this afternoon, I watched a coyote across the way… it was headed towards Portage Avenue along the creek…
I didn’t have time to get the camera out, but took a photo with my iPhone, which is cropped a bit here…
when I was up in the middle of the night, not too long ago, I watched one walk up the street…
fun to see wildlife but a bit of a worry that they are having to come out in the daytime and amongst the city streets…
