great excitement over the last while when I discovered two different new buds…
the first one I noted was the tiny little buds on the mandevilla…
it had been looking very scraggly when it came out from the house…
and then, just a few days ago, I spotted a bud on the hibiscus;-)…
can’t wait to see the blooms as they open…

as the last couple of orchids are losing their final few flowers, I am watching four plants which have begun new buds…
two are quite a way along…
one is a bit further behind…
and the final one has just barely begun…
most of them are in the den, which is interesting, as I would have expected the ones in the front rooms to do better…
looking forward to the new flowers;-)…

I continue to be surprised by the number of blooms on the water lily…
there have been flowers every day since June 10th;-)…
I think there have been fifteen so far…
such an amazing treat to enjoy each day;-)…

had a lovely walk on Tuesday;-)…
spotted lilacs everywhere I went, and enjoyed the scent…
and also saw a beautiful tree covered in white blossoms…
and finally spotted one of the mallard families;-)…

recently I came across a couple of pictures of cherry trees from April a number of years ago…
this first photo, which I took at the Filberg Festival in Courtenay, BC in 2011, won us a trip to Kingfisher Oceanside Resort and Spa to enjoy their Pacific Mist hydropath…
this photo was taken in New York, NY, in 2016… I think it was in Central Park..
cherry trees are just so beautiful, and clearly April is a blooming month for them;-)…
it is fun when memories remind me of special times…

the hibiscus made it into the house and was looking great… so far…
still had lots of buds and I was eagerly waiting to see if they would bloom because sometimes the buds fall off after a move…
the above photos were taken on Tuesday and the ones below were taken tonight…
it was so wonderful to have these blooming today as it has been snowing since early this morning, sigh…
guess the timing was good, lol…

got this shot of the morning glories before leaving for the office…
not only can you see the bloom that opened this morning (purple) but yesterday’s one as well (pink)… even a few mandevilla blossoms are visible…
good thing because it has been raining since leaving the office…

had some fun with my camera first thing this morning as I took pictures of the flowers in the house…
we will see if they end up dropping the rest of the blossoms or whether they will happily open…
beautiful hibiscus flower…
mandevilla blooms in the hanging basket which I set into the gardenia plant… hope they all make it through the winter…
grocery shopped at Safeway, dropped off the bags, and then went to Costco with my kids…
always find a few things there that I really need… today it was a cute Tommy Hilfiger sweater and some fancy olive oils…
great to have supper together again… and both my son-in-law and grandson did a few jobs around the house for me…
now I am curled up on my bed watching the Emmys and catching the odd Pokemon…

took out the recycling and garbage this morning and had to come back in and get my camera to take some close ups of the stunning apricot tree…
beautiful…
was back at the dentist for a filling, sigh… am certainty getting better but still find the whole thing stressful… the dentist was worried about my gag reflex (which is quite special, lol) due to the position of the cavity, but it went well…
as I walked back to the car I took some shots of the hedges as the leaves are bursting forth with new growth…
mid-morning the downtown streets were fairly quiet, so no one looked at me oddly as I stopped to take these pictures…
noticed these flowers at the side of the house and thought of all the times my girls brought me bouquets of them…
my grandsons have also brought me similar bouquets, lol…
as part of my Fridays off I have been trying to meet friends for a meal… today I met up with a very special young woman and her daughter… we rarely have a chance to get together, so it was a great treat…
had those big girl pants on as I went to the restaurant half an hour early and sat enjoying a cup of tea while I waited for them…
lots of personal growth taking place… was comfortable being there on my own, which is a huge step…
met my daughter and showed her a fire table that might work in the garden…
been looking for just the right one for a long time… this might be it…
had a great call with my sister-in-law and am excited to see her over the weekend as she comes to town for Mother’s Day…
interesting how growth happens… all of a sudden it seems the leaves burst open and at other times it seems like nothing is changing at all…
look forward to the changes in me as I move forward in this new reality… even after four years it still feels fresh…

this morning I got a few shots of my new hibiscus…
it is so lovely to see blossoms first thing in the morning…
flowers always make me happy…
recently someone mentioned that whenever there are flowers around, people notice and comment in a positive way… flowers add warmth to any space… maybe that’s why I like them so much…
another thing that makes me happy is seeing changes in nature…
as I walked up the street tonight I noticed the greening of one of the trees by the creek…
spent time tonight as well enjoying those hibiscus blossoms…
