recently, a package came in the mail from my daughter in Ottawa…
in it was a delightful handcrafted calendar that is a bouquet…
it is going to look different every month as the twelve pieces move from front to back;-)…
I am so blessed;-)…

it is very cool and it has taken a while to decide where to put it…
it finally went on the bathroom door…
it is the one place that I pass all the time…

I was surprised when the doorbell rang as I wasn’t expecting anything, but after the recent surprise of my daughter at the door, I hurried to see who or what was there…
it was a parcel with my name on it;-)…
opened it to discover a Walker’s Shortbread Advent Calendar, woohoo…
the kids in Ottawa had sent it and I was very excited to receive it…
I’d never seen an advent calendar by them before and just recently my friends and I had been discussing how much we all liked their shortbread cookies…
I can hardly wait for December 1st when I can open the first flap on the calendar;-)…
what a delightful treat…
I was thinking about what a world we live in where you can see something, buy it online, and have it sent directly to someone in another city;-)…

one of my Christmas presents was a bird calendar from my grandson… it arrived a few days ago and is titled Extremely Accurate Birds…
I hung it up on Monday morning…
it has made me laugh every time I walk by…

the Audubon calendar for Friday and Saturday was a chickadee…
and yesterday a memory came up on Facebook of me feeding a chickadee in Mer Bleu three years ago while I was visiting…
I had hoped to train my chickadees to eat from my hand, but so far, no luck…
I did catch this little one dashing to and from the feeder, lol…

January first was new calendar day…
for many years we have had Chihuly calendars… either my daughter or I would get two and give one to the other person;-)…
one year I even made one filled with photos from our trip to see his installation in Atlanta…
this year I changed it up…
I found an Audubon calendar online that shows a different bird each day… ordered two and sent one off with the other Christmas presents…
took down the old one and put up the new one…
I think I will learn a bit and maybe it will even help me with bird identification in the garden…

the Advent calendar has made its way back into the living room… it looks so great in that spot…
last year it was filled with yummy bonbons from Decadence Chocolates…
this year it will be filled with bits and pieces from Canadian Chocoholic’s stash…
now I just have to to wait for the parcel to arrive with the chocolate to go into it😊…

today I learned that if you put the word supper in the title of an appointment in the Google calendar, this is what it shows…
but, if you put dinner in it, you get a cute little picture;-)…
clearly Google doesn’t know that supper and dinner mean the same thing to me, lol…
always enjoy learning new things, particularly concerning technology;-)…
