by Monday morning the den was back to normal…

the mattress had gone upstairs on Saturday, and the tables and couch put back in their usual space… I also changed the orchids on the sofa table, putting the ones that are blooming onto the dining room table and the ones that aren’t into the den…

it wasn’t until Monday morning that the carpet and coffee table made it back into their spots… my housemate had to lift the couch so I could slide the carpet under the feet to hold it in place…

I’ve now added a tray on the side table to keep it from getting scratched and added some flowers…

nice to have things in order…

spent time in the den, getting it ready for a guest…

furniture was rearranged and a few tables moved out of the space, lol… it was interesting to figure out where to put them…

once the couch was opened up, an extra mattress was brought downstairs, thankfully I had help with that…

next sheets, a quilt, comforter, and pillows were added…

then I tested out the bed, to be sure it was comfortable;-)…

some flowers and we will be ready;-)…

I’ve been looking for ages for a narrow table to go behind the couch in the den…

at one point I even considered having one made by my handyperson…

then I found one that I liked the look of online and eventually decided to order it… it had a spot for a few plugs and usb ports as well…

the package arrived on Wednesday evening and my housemate took it downstairs and put it together while I was reading…

it came up on Thursday morning and went into the living room as I cleared off the table that was currently behind the couch…

after moving many pieces, the new table made it into its final spot…

electrical items were plugged in and then the plants made it onto it and the couch moved back into place…

it is the perfect height and length and looks excellent…

always happy when a project works out well…

I’ve been putting a cushion behind me when I sit on the couch and they tend to fall over when I get up, so I am constantly adjusting them as I sit…

the other day I used a blanket to hold them in place, but it was just a bit too short…

then I tried a different blanket which is a bit bigger…

I think it looks good and keeps the cushion in place when I get up and down…

and a bit more purple never hurt;-)…

so, then I did the same thing in the den…

brightens it up nicely…

spent my day basically in three spots…

on a lounge chair, beside the hot tub, reading…

on the couch in the living room with flowers on the table, reading as well…

on the bed, reading, napping, and watching some PVRed shows, track and field and skateboarding…

in between I did manage to make three meals… a fruit smoothie; egg salad on toast with fresh veggies; steak with mushrooms and sweet potato baked fries…

also chatted with my daughters and a couple of my grandsons…

a rather wonderful relaxing day, lol…
