Hilda the Gardener spent a few hours on Wednesday afternoon tidying up the garden…

now that the poppies are finished blooming, she removed the ones that were in the walkway and cut back the ones in the flowerbed…

the other plants in that bed are visible and will likely spread out a bit more…

she also removed the lily of the valley from a section of the side garden…

the columbine are taking over but it looks fabulous… and the peas are moving up the arch at an astounding speed…

everything is doing well, including the clover and grass that we put down a few weeks ago…

I will be very happy when I don’t have to water it every day, lol…

saw some lovely flower displays on my walk yesterday…

this house looked nice with the lovely manicured flowerbeds…

I often take a photo of this display that looks pretty throughout the entire summer…

and these flowers made me think more about changing out the grass in the front yard…

got a rain barrel and new pots for the front flowerbeds a little over a week ago…

the pots were filled and planted shortly after… three were moved into their correct places and three were put along the driveway waiting for work to be done on the north side bed…

yesterday my grandson and his landscaping friend arrived to beautify the space…

they worked for five hours… removing ferns, weeds, and most of the wild rose which had taken over the space… they redesigned the shape of the bed and put down landscape cloth, laid paving stones where the pots were to go, moved a fountain and the very heavy birdbath… and lastly, dumped and spread fifteen bags of mulch…

it looks amazing…

so happy;-)…

last night my grandson drove me over to the grocery store where we picked up some planters and baskets filled with Christmas greenery and berries…

hard to tell from the photo I took this morning, but the planters have a wooden reindeer head in them… they are quite cute…

the baskets got plopped into two of the planters in front of the living room window…

may have to go back and pick up another couple of the baskets…

waiting for a fancy swag to arrive to hang on the front door from a fundraiser the oldest grandson is participating in…

outside decorating done;-)… although I do have an expert coming and she may have other ideas, lol…

I am laying in my bed listening to the wind whipping a loose piece of siding against the side of the house… it is very loud and seems to be never ending… wondering if I am going to get any sleep tonight…
