had a photo shoot with my bouquet of flowers…
I’m happy that I’ve taken lots of shots since I received them as they are starting to fade…
got out the actual camera and had a fun time… light was good and tunes were playing…
flowers make me happy;-)…

my friend dropped a bag of coffee off a bit before Christmas…
it was for our weekly gathering…
today, we met by video call… so I did not make coffee…
my friends were in the sleigh and I was beside the tree… good thing they were in that sleigh because there was a lot of snow outside…
as always, we caught up on everyone’s life and had some fun remembering winter sports we had taken part in, lol…
the entire time I could smell the delicious chicken soup that was simmering on the stove…

had a wonderful time with my BS buddies to celebrate Christmas, even after the decision to stop gathering in person…
this morning a charcuterie board arrived from DeLuca’s and I divided it into five along with a veggie tray, crackers and pistachios… there was ranch dip with it and I made some fresh hummus to go along with all the other goodies…
a couple of elves fetched gifts and then dropped them off at other locations with the boxes of food…
shortly after that we gathered by Skype and enjoyed our meal… there was lots of conversation and laughter… eventually we went around the rectangle and opened gifts…
lots of thought had gone into each offering… there were cozy things, handmade goodies, items for the kitchen, donations and love;-)…
we slid back into Skyping without a hitch… we had only been meeting in person since the end of July…
these are some of the most special people in my life…
I am blessed…

yesterday I made the decision to go into my own personal lockdown…
it was a very hard decision at this time of year, but I have been struggling with the worry of getting sick after all these months of taking such care…
so, my Monday/Tuesday group will meet by Skype tomorrow for our Christmas celebration… I’d ordered a charcuterie board and I will divide it up with some veggies… two of my friends will pick up gifts and then drop off the snack packages before our call…
lunch and goodies via Skype… just like we’ve done before, lol…
and I won’t be having my grandson over for lunch on Christmas Day, although possibly he will stop by for a short visit in the garage… or go to my daughter’s for Christmas dinner…
presents will be picked up, phone and video calls made…
I have all the things I need in the freezer (I think) to make a lovely chicken dinner on Saturday…
another solo Christmas, and although I will miss everyone, I feel I will be safe…
and at this point that seems the most important thing;-)…

got a great surprise today;-)…
I’ve had a booster shot scheduled for the second week of January at my doctor’s office and had checked with a nearby drugstore to see if I could get one sooner as the rules recently changed… unfortunately there were no appointments left at the moment…
got a call this morning from a friend as one of them wasn’t able to get the vaccine today and they offered me the spot, after checking with the pharmacy…
left home at 10:30, wearing my KN95 mask and was back, all boosted, by 10:50;-)…
just last night I heard that this mask is currently the best protection…
very relieved to have all 3 shots as there are plans for a small gathering on Christmas…
what a great feeling…

last night a friend called and suggested I check out the moon…
it was a sliver in the sky with a very bright Venus above it…
I dug out the tripod, which was deep in a closet, and headed to the front step… even though it was cold, I took a few minutes and got some good photos…
so happy to have received that call;-)…

yesterday a good friend stopped by with a few items from a fundraiser…
there were two beautiful poinsettias and a swag…
after our visit the swag went up on the front door… looks good there…
hope it stays up… the swags don’t have any fasteners on the back so it is always dicey to get them up and looking great…
the poinsettias found homes in the dining and living rooms…
now to see if I can keep them alive through Christmas;-)…

finally got around to putting away most of the summer tops…
that produced a lot of space and freed up many hangers…
sadly, only two tops made it into the giveaway box…
then, a bit later a good friend stopped by with something she had picked up for me… after a lovely visit she headed out…
as I waved to her out the window I was reminded of my Aunty Vi, who always stood at the window and waved whenever someone left her home…

yesterday, for the first time in nearly two years, we went to PTE to watch a live play…
we were both masked and had to show our proof of immunization… there were less than half the seats filled as they followed all Covid protocols… the program was digital and the set was see-through;-)…
it was great to be able to watch a show live…
once we left, we went on another adventure to find a pasta shop my friend had recently read about… it was snowing again and the trees were beautiful…
we were the only people inside and it was such fun to look at things and make choices about what to purchase… I got some fresh spaghetti, sorrentino (ravioli) in mushroom sauce, falafel, empanadas and pita…
what a fun time;-)…

this week our group is moving indoors as it is cold outside, so I have been getting the living room organized… another chair has been added so that everyone has a separate place to sit…
a few days ago I spent some time covering a black and white chair so that it fits better in the living room…
it didn’t come out perfectly, but I am happy with the outcome… it is purple, after all…
side tables were moved, pledge applied, plants resituated, cushions replaced…
can’t wait for my friends to see it…
