Tuesday we went to aquasize as my buddy had an appointment on Thursday…
from there we drove to Oak Bluff, where we had lunch at Roxy’s Restaurant & Lounge… I was very excited to find battered mushrooms on the menu, so we started with those… and they were delicious;-)… then I had a tasty beef dip with Caesar salad… the service was excellent, the food good and it was a nice spot…
onward to Carman where we visited the Golden Prairie Arts Council to see an exhibition by Connie Bart Hamel which was filled with a variety of mediums… she is very talented and a neighbour of my friend…
we stopped at Syl’s for ice cream and had a lovely drive home in the sunshine…
it is my normal pattern to look out the bedroom window when I get up to check the weather and see if the snow has melted, or more has fallen, or whether the sun is shining, lol…
this morning I was surprised when I looked out and spotted Indi… she is home for a few days so that we have transportation while the guest is still here and because of all the snow there wasn’t room to go into the garage…
there were also treats… I received this lovely Monet bookmark from Paris which matches the sweet tray I was given the other day;-)… I put it right into the book I was reading…
and a bit later in the day this ice cream cone arrived… yum, haven’t had one since my booster shot…
we ended the day working on the puzzle I ordered quite some time ago – which I hadn’t been able to connect the edge pieces, so I had packed it up and put it away in disgust…
in about an hour the border was done… hmmm, what a difference a little help makes;-)…
the kids came for supper tonight… we had a delicious beef roast with roasted potatoes and carrots, and a Caesar salad…
then we jumped in the cars and went to try out Rollesque Roll Up Ice Cream… it is right beside my favourite Vietnamese restaurant;-)…
it was quite a show… they chop up the main ingredient, then they pour cream onto the cold metal tray… they move it around, flatten it and then roll it into fat tubes… pop it into a container, add whipped cream, a few toppings, and voila… a delicious treat;-)…
I chose coconut bliss which had coconut cream, teddy grahams, couple of rolled cookies and some chocolate sauce…
I was up fairly early and had tea outside as I was waiting for the crew to wake up…
eventually we had pancakes – regular for the boys and potato for us… along with some breakfast sausages…
a few jobs around the site and everyone else went to the beach…
I read and napped while they were gone… once they were back we walked around the campground checking out the various sites and then went for ice cream…
we had supper together and then my daughter headed back to the city…
we have prepared a little nest in the boat and are hoping to watch the meteorshower, if we can stay awake…
a big fire kitty corner from our office… a colleague took the picture with the flames and a few seconds later I took the one with the smoke as they extinguished it…
my grandson picked me up at the office and we went and picked up a few slices of cake to take to my daughter…
treated to fish and chips for dinner and then home to finish the packing…
final treat of the night was a quick trip to Dairy Queen…
now off to bed… going to be a full day tomorrow;-)…
after supper we went to Sargent Sundae for ice cream…
three of us walked and the other two took the car… we spotted three bunnies just going down the street…
on the way we reminisced as we went by the Community Club… remembering BlueStar Bakery and the sweet man who made all the delicious donuts, cookies and cinnamon buns… sometimes the girls would have some change to get something and other times he would just pass out a cookie…
then we walked down Winchester alongside of Linwood School and talked about the 75th anniversary, which took place when the girls attended the school… where the music room was and who lived on the street… it was fun listening to my daughter share some of her memories with her son… reminded me of why we have stayed in one house forever;-)…
met up with the other two in the lineup… a beautiful evening so there were lots of people with the same idea as us, lol…
there was a lot of trying to get hugs going on… really not done in public anymore…
eventually we all got our ice cream and sat on a bench outside to enjoy our treats…
they jumped in the car and headed out and I strolled home…
so far this evening I’ve been to a soccer game… after the game there were treats…
partly because he said that grandma must be about 50… seemed like that deserved ice cream, don’t you think…
a skatepark…
where the new scooter was tested out at last… he got it way back yesterday… he also had his BMK for a bit of variety, lol…
the soccer player was doing great on his bike… it was late in the fall when he actually started to ride…
it sure is wonderful to be able to attend their events and get to see them having fun…
ran home at lunch, was picked up, taken back to the office and picked up at the end of the day… then, when we arrived at their house, supper was waiting for us… what a treat… another example of how blessed I am…
I sure miss having my beloved look after making a meal, and arriving home to the lovely odours of food cooking…
