a while ago my grandson took a few of my knives to sharpen for me…
they were from the WearEver collection that had belonged to my parents…
recently he dropped them back off… he had sharpened them and cleaned and oiled the one with a wooden handle…
today, I finally used a couple of them…
they were so sharp and cut beautifully… reminded me how good sharp knives are, lol…

a few weeks ago I picked up some new knives… they are a bit heavier that the old ones… put them up onto the IKEA magnet beside the stove…
the first day I cut myself as one slid down the magnet and I caught it…
and a few days ago, the same one slid down and landed on the stove…
I was so happy to see that the glass top of the stove didn’t crack…
but then I realized that the end of the knife put two chips in the porcelain…
every time I look at the stove I wonder what is on it, before remembering that these are the chips, lol…
going to have to have someone come and fill them up…

yesterday I picked up a new knife set… while I was preparing dinner the younger grandsons very carefully took them out of the packaging… with many admonishments to be careful as the knives were sharp…
they did a great job…
I took down the old set and put up the new ones on the magnetic strip…
as I was putting up the bread knife it slipped down and sliced my finger…
quite a cut… my grandson went to the bathroom to find a bandaid for me… although there were quite a few in the box there wasn’t really the size I needed…
made me laugh because my beloved was always putting a bandage on his fingers, hands, knees, whatever… there were always every kind to be sure he had just the right one to cover whatever cut he had… haven’t replaced them since he died…
guess I need to get some new ones…
