woke up early this morning and enjoyed some lovely sky-watching…
saw the most interesting light pillar… not long ago many photographers in the province had noted multiple columns in the sky, so I was excited to have spotted it…
the moon was visible out my bedroom window… and then there was a lovely sunrise…
spectacular way to start the day…

yesterday I spent some time playing with my camera and flowers in the house…
working a bit with the macro feature…
got some good shots of the orchid… if you look at them just the right way you can see a dove…
also got a few pictures of the flowers in one of the bouquets on the main floor…
as everyone knows, flowers really help me through the cold and dark season… just looking at them makes me happy…
the great news is that every day there is a tiny bit more light;-)…

a few days ago I turned on the radiant heater in the bathroom because the floor was chilly…
sun is going down earlier and coming up later every day… seems like it was just June and here it is September, sigh…
also I’ve been noticing that the trees and plants are changing colour… the cedars are filled with cones… have never seen so many before… seems too soon to be fall…

having to turn on the bedroom light in the morning, sigh, so I’ve started to use my BeeWi iPhone app to turn off the light when I leave the room…
had a bit of fun with changing the colour of the bulb… nice to play with, but I’m sure it will end up white again, lol…
so far I don’t need to use it to turn the light on when I come upstairs after work:-)… sadly the time is coming when I will need to…

this morning I had a happy surprise when I went by the window in the hallway…
it was around six am and the light was still glowing in the garden… the solar light had stayed on all night… surely a sign of warmer days and stronger sunlight…
had to go back to the bedroom to get my phone so I could get a photo of it…
as I drank my smoothie I also noticed the moon out the window…
every day is getting lighter… this makes me very happy…

been thinking a lot about people struggling with mental and physical health these days…
I usually feel down in February and March and I think it has to do with the lack of light and cold weather… of course this being the time of year that I lost my beloved has added to the negative feelings…
many of those I speak with at this time of year are having similar struggles…
maybe we focus on our aches and pain more because we are getting out and about less, lol…
my knee has been bothering me for about a week now and it is frustrating because I can’t figure out what I did to it…
I will be so happy when I can get out and walk to the Park again without having to worry about freezing temperatures and icy sidewalks… and be able to smell fresh air…

had some fun with pictures today…
reorganized a few items and took a few shots…
angels have been part of my collections forever… now it has been reduced to just a small group…
a few are handmade puppets;-)…
when my eyes aren’t glued to the tv, this is what I see… can see beams of light early in the day and also midday as well…
I do love sunlight…

had roses delivered to the office this morning for the staff members who were away on Valentine’s Day… had to laugh because they were nicer than the ones we had… these ones came with greenery and glitter, lol…
and shortly after that our Manitoba Lung Association fundraiser tulips were delivered… the office was filled with beauty…
every day the sky is filled with light which lasts longer and is brighter, and to have flowers on top of that just makes me happy…

winter is often a down season for me… I really miss the light…
George always made sure I had lots of flowers throughout these darker months…
yesterday I was at the grocery store and bought flowers to brighten my space…
they will be in the living room and the bedroom at home and on my desk at work…
also noticing that the days are getting longer…
I already feel happier…
