went for another walk around the neighbourhood… it was a bit cool and windy, but the sun was shining so it was enjoyable… hoping to get back into a regular routine, lol…
took another book to drop off at the Little Library and while I was there I picked up two to bring home to read…
I’ve spotted the hummingbird a number of times in the garden over the last few weeks… I have basically given up trying to get a photo, lol…
last Sunday I was in the living room on the phone with my daughter and looked out the window to see the hummy shoot by…
that made me go out to the garage to find the hummingbird feeder, bring it into the house, make syrup and fill the feeder… took it out and hung it in the garden near the purple flowers it seemed to like…
I sat out for awhile to watch for it, but nothing…
the next day, my buddies were here and when one tasted her coffee she spit it out… apparently I had put salt in the sugar bowl… which had also been what I used to make the syrup for the feeder… no wonder nobody showed up to drink from it…
brought the feeder back in, made real syrup, and put it outside…
maybe the hummingbird will come back, but it looks like it may have headed south;-(…
Monday and Tuesday night I went out and covered the mandevilla as there was a chance of frost…
it looks like the rest of the week will be warmer so rather than start the process of bringing the plant in, it seemed better to protect it and keep it outside for the next week…
it has been filled with blooms and looks wonderful… unfortunately, once it comes into the house the unopened buds will likely fall off…
brought out the pothos vine from the dining room… it had overgrown its container and really needed to be repotted…
pulled out one of the purple pots that I bought from the Dollar store months ago and filled it with compost and soil…
before setting the plant in, I loosened the roots which were circling the rootball… centred it in the new pot and filled it up with soil… gave it a good water and wound the vines around the pot…
and finally, moved it back to its spot on the shelf;-)…
I think it will look better in a few weeks when the leaves turn to the light…
Tuesday, a friend picked me up and we had a wander through the Diversity Gardens…
it was her first time there and I enjoyed being the tour guide, lol…
we were so busy catching up that I barely took any photos…
I did take some of a few grasses we thought might work in the garden between the cedars which might cover it a bit more of the chain link now that the neighbours have removed their planters…
from there, we drove over and walked through the English sand Leo Mol Gardens…
we spent some time relaxing on a bench by the pond and learning about Pokémon as I have just started playing again and now have my own account;-)…
