counting down these last few working days…
today I wrote procedures, did a bit of training, tidied files, and boxed up a number of my plants…
clearly I should have moved the plants last week when it was around zero… today is was -27…
it looks like they made it okay… I’ve emptied the box and tomorrow I will bring home the remaining plants;-)…
and then we will see…

recently a few people have commented on the plants in the office…
my space is filled with orchids, violets and other greenery…
I always give credit to our plant whisperer who keeps the green things extra green…
I also mention how much I enjoy my orchids… sometimes they bloom a second and third time… it is so exciting when that happens…
lovely to spend my day in a garden;-)..

great day at the office yesterday… triple treats…
arrived to find a gift at my desk… a remedy from Sage…
it was Souper day and we had a tasty lentil soup with delicious sides provided by those who didn’t make the soup…
and topped off the day with a collection of doughnuts… I only had 2 quarters;-)…
pretty fine day…

today my dear colleague, who has done a ton of work to help get my office organized, brought in the last piece…
it is a wall hanging that started its life as a table runner for my dining room…
she had it steamed, sewed up the edges, picked up a dowel and some hangers for it…
it fills the final spot on the wall perfectly…
I had a lovely orchid in the space, but a few days ago when I got to work it had dropped all of its blossoms…
just on the weekend, I had picked up another beautiful plant, so this morning, I strapped it into the seatbelt in the back of the car and brought it to work… made the trip perfectly and looks great in the space, although it has a white pot, not purple…
but it looks wonderful… and has a special feel about it…

the sky was absolutely amazing this morning…
I took these pictures between 6:07 and 7:15 am…
the sunrise was spectacular… on the drive downtown the sunlight was streaming through the clouds… not a single red light all the way to the office… and by the time I got there the clouds had filled the sky…
just before I left the office for the weekend, I got a photo of my amethysts… today we heard a designer talk about the importance of feeling good in your workspace and as I get used to my office I do enjoy all of the bits and pieces that make it mine and make me feel happy…
once I arrived home I took a picture of a piece of the Rice Krispie cake that my sweet colleague brought me this afternoon…
was so busy getting ready to leave the house early this morning that I forgot to take something out for dinner, but made a veggie omelette… it was tasty…
and now for a four day weekend;-)…

had a few moments of fun today…
got our picture by the Winnipeg sign and one of a couple of geese there as well…
interesting how the Winnipeg sign draws me like a magnet whenever I am in the vicinity, lol…
the giggle was walking through some muddy paths to get to the photo op…
and then at the office I completely missed the beautiful job of reframing one of my colleagues did…
now the office is done;-)…

had such fun getting ready for our AGM…
had planned to have a friend prepare the flowers for the event but that fell through… luckily she gave me some great pointers…
yesterday I went to the floral area at Safeway and hoped to get some design help from Michelle, the florist on duty…
I showed her one of the vases that we were planning to use and the basic design I’d been given… once we chose the flowers she was able to make me a sample… helped with how tall to cut the flowers, where to add the greenery, etc… she was amazing and put everything into a bucket for me and boxed up the sample…
filled the back of the car with flowers and it smelled like a flower shop as I drove home…
when I got home I sent a picture to my friend to see if the arrangement looked similar to what she had planned…
she thought it looked great, which helped make me feel better about the whole thing, lol…
packed up the bucket and box and took everything to the office this morning…
spent a lovely time putting together the arrangements… and they came out great, thanks to a colleague who finished them off with ribbons…
they looked great on the tables… simple but pretty…
afterwards I put a bouquet in each of the helpers’ offices;-)…
flowers make me happy…

so I’ve been moving the flowers around a lot…
when I first opened them, I had them on the dining room table…
then they moved to the living room… I spent time there reading…
when I went upstairs to the bedroom they went along with me… I’ve really enjoyed them wherever I’ve been…
this morning I boxed them up and took them to the office… they smelled delicious and looked wonderful all day long… my colleagues enjoyed them too…
then at the end of the day, I put them back in the box and brought them home again…
they were in the living room for a while but are now here with me in the bedroom…
wanting to get as much enjoyment out of them as possible…
